I used to do insurance claims and had access to databases that could look up license plates that can lead me to other avenues of info. depending on who else can have this type of ability, i don't think it's wise to have your license plate visible in photos either.

If it's for my own car, I don't really give a rats ass, but when I'm taking photos of other peoples cars, it's all out of respect.
