What are your automotive plans for 2007?

So as the title says, what are your automotive plans for 07? Buying a new car? Fixing up your current one? Lets hear it.

For me, I plan on driving the TL until I graduate in the spring, and then I plan on getting a 2004 TSX 5A w/ Navigation. Ideally I'd wait until the fall when they unveil the next gen TSX and the current TSX drops in value some more.

Another option is waiting until the fall and seeing how the 8th gen Accord coupe turns out. From the sketches it looks bad ass. But then again I also have to remember IT IS an accord and there will be one on every corner (I like a little exclusitivity)

Other car choices include 2005-2006 G35 sedan, but then again I live in Los Angeles and will probably go to college in the city so the VQ will be a waste.

Anyways, what's everyone elses plans?

I'll buy my own project car when I save enough money. I'll drive the TL until it gets turned in during December. I haven't decided on which car to choose next, I can't wait for the next Honda's/Acura's.

I am right on the edge of either getting a G35 or a Mazdaspeed3.

I just can't decide if I want to be practical or not. $$ is the same for both cars I'm looking at but with a dog, having back seats are nice to have.

Mommies ditching the van for an 07 MDX Tech(possibly sport, but unlikely). May throw the plan into action as soon as tomorrow, but I predict a long wait like there was for my father and the TL.

I've got big plans for my Integra....

Fix the minor knick-knacks
Make it even more thief-proof
Sell the Si rims and get some new shoes
Debadge, put in some various interior goodies... some JDM
Install a short shifter with polyurethane bushings
Pull out entire interior for tan to black swap
Get some new seats.... don't know what yet
Sand the car down, primer it (<-all by myself, hopefully) and get a JDM front end
Get the JDM front installed & get the car painted
Swap in a B20 and do a CR-VTEC with a GSR head
Get a three-angle valve job and forged pistons, connecting rods
Install new clutch with lighter flywheel.... maybe a LSD tranny too

That's just the major stuff, anyway. I may have to to do the infamous $50 paint job to get my car painted because I am on a tight budget. And hopefully I'll have enough money because I'm on the verge of leaving the nest. I want the engine bay painted too, but I don't want to ruin the pain or the new fenders/front bumper that I'll have.

You don't even want to know what I got in mind for 2008....

It's probably going to be the lower half of that list.

OK ... my plans for 2007. TLS is a done project/daily driver. Will be looking at 2nd gen G35 coupe when it comes out. (Need a sporty coupe before the midlife crisis!) And I don't think I can get myself to be buying a Civic Si, Miata (MX-5?), Z, Tiberon ( ) or a Canadian spec S2000 (C$50k MSRP!). Not a big Teutonic fan (re: BMW, MB, Audi, VW) so that pretty much limits me to a Japanese import. Domestics? A 'Vette would be great but totally impractical for winter use in the Midwest.

GF's '07 TSX stays bone stock, less 50% tint all around -- she can't see at night with my car (ie 20% tint) so 50% is a nice compromise.

05-07 Legacy GT - Black on BLack

first do some minor engine work and go stage 2 with it
then summer hits get TDC's twincroll GT30r setup
towards the second half of the year get the motor rebuilt and put on the twinscrol kit = big power
of cours the suspension, rims, and tranny will be done.
along with new front and rear bumbers and totaly blacked out.

thats my 2007 and we'll see how it goes. right now it's looking good.

It's interesting you ask this question, because by the end of 2007, I will have paid off on my TSX and the car warranty will be over. I am wondering whether I should keep this car (I do love it!) or get a new one... if I decide to keep my TSX, I may get the extended warranty. Otherwise, the choices are:

1. 328 xiT
2. A4 Quattro Avant
3. G35
4. E350 wagon
5. 530 xiT
6. new TSX? TL?
7. G350 AWD

Being my only vehicle, I really want something that has fold-down rear seats or a sportswagon, though the options for the latter are unfortunately very few. I love the Saab 9-3 Aero Sportcombi's style, but I am concerned about its reliability and poor resale value. The Subaru Outback wagon has almost everything that I need, except that I am not a fan of its rugged exterior.

I know that neither the G35 nor the G350 has fold-down rear seats but I love their looks so I am still considering them.... hmm.... decisions, decisions!

....will keep the 00 Quest and 02 Maxima until the wheels fall off (which might be soon on the Quest ) and the 05 Murano until the lease expires in 08.

However, we will be helping my son buy his first car in 07. That said, for now we are considering:

02-03 WRX
Honda Civic Si (EP)
VW MkIV 1.8T (cert & low mileage only)
2G or 3G Subaru Legacy

for my '05 Legacy GT -

AEM CAI
td06-18G
D-werks 740cc injectors
upgraded pump
dyno tune

should be done near the end of the month

I'll also be adding a Yakima rack in the next week or two. And I'll be needing a new lip spoiler since I broke mine into 4 pieces the other day in a foot of snow. My fault for not taking it off earlier.

For the end of '06 I was planning on getting an A3 but had to hold off because of other issues that came up. I think it was a blessing in disguise though. My best friend bought a 3.2 A4 6spd the minute I told him that Audi offered the 3.2 in a manual. The A4 is great car. And after seeing my friends car, I'm considering getting an A4 Avant. So I have some deciding to do between the two. I'm in love with the A3 2.0T 6spd, but I know all the extra room in the A4 2.0T Avant would be very handy. Guess I'll see later this year.

Make the last payments on my wife's honda coupe.
Get a drop with new springs and camber kit for the TL
Decide on purchasing an SUV for the family. I would rather get a NEW TL, but I am not the boss.
Wait for the new 4th GEN TL spy pics so that we can all get excited and talk about it non stop (like when the 3rd Gen was coming out)

OLD CAR: Well, I plan to *actually* start working on my MGB roadster restoration. It'll be modest, as the purspose is just to have a fun runabout, and to have another option for a commuter car besides the 2000 TL and the 2003 Expedition.

NEW CAR: My 2000 TL is about to turn 137K, and trade value's in the toilet! I bought it used in 2003 so it'll be paid for this November, but I can't wait that long. I'm currently waffling between two '06 G35 sedans: one manual and one auto. The 05-06 TL is on my short list as well as the 300C and farther down, the Charger.

I'm jonesing for RWD again, otherwise another TL would be the hands-down winner. I just don't want to sign up for 4-5 more years of FWD. I tried to console myself by saying the MG would give me my RWD fix, which would allow me to get the TL again. But the G35 makes 3X the power of the MG, and it's already RWD. Pray for me, guys. Why can't I just have one of EVERYTHING?! Hopefully I'll have the new car within the next 2-3 weeks; I'll keep you guys posted. The finance guy in my brain says keep the TL-P and pay it off, but it no longer feels new to me, even though it drives like a dream and the Navi's still useful. I guess it's time for a change. This is officially the longest I've ever owned a car at 4+ years with the TL.

New tires for the TSX and probably go ahead and get the Avincar speaker upgrade

The good stuff though is that we'll likely be replacing my wife's '01 Pathfinder. We've looked a bit (Escalade, MDX, Q7, Denali, Expedition, QX56) but nothing has really caught our fancy for the kind of $$$ that these cost. So, we'll be waiting to see the new/redesigned Sequoia and QX56, along with actually driving the Acadia and the Navigator (our dealer has yet to get a '07 in yet)

Get the G35... I drove it and for 2 weeks I could do nothing but . I just couldn't get over that growl that it makes when you turn the key. My mom was standing next to me and when the salesguy started one up, my mom was like holy shit that's one mean mother fucker (not her words exactly :wink but along those lines. Also its so damn fast, I downshifted into 2nd or 3rd at 40 and tapped the gas and the damn thing flew to 60.

Anyways enough of my babbling, hope you're happy with whatever you choose.

I was gonna buy teh wifey an RDX for Christmas, but after she drove it and the X3, she preferred the interior of the RDX, but liked the smoothness of the X3. And for the money of an X3, she could have an MDX, but she prefers the size of the RDX. Dog>chasing>tail.

I've been itching to pull the trigger on a weekend fun car for a while now, but will probably wait until after we move later this spring/summer.

my short list:

- Move to Hawaii
- Leave Old cars Behind (CL/Legend)
- Buy/Inherit 96' Pathfinder
- put in audio system
- research off road capabilities, and local laws as far as modding is concerned
- get job
- sell pathfinder
- buy new car

the last 2 are still really undecided

I'm debating whether to get the C35 motor from the 1st gen RL swapped in my '97 TL (I have the Type II heads already) and get a 6 speed manual.

Or...

Get a 2004 RL and just leave it alone

Two completely different driving styles
