What should I do with my wheels?

OK guys, I ordered a set of 22x8.5 Zenetti Spartan in chrome for my M45 Sport two weeks ago and they never showed up. The shipment never came and the wheels in chrome aren't going to be in the States for another five weeks in that fitment. Therefore, I went ahead and bought the same wheel in black with a chrome lip at a discount because my wheel shop screwed me over and Zenetti only makes it in black for now. The wheels are supposed to come on Wednesday but I'm debating what I should do with the wheels. My choices are either to keep the black/chrome lip wheels or colormatching the wheels with the chrome lip.

Here's my car. The amber strip at the side of the headlight is now completely blacked out, giving it a black chrome appearance at the side. This is a pic from when I first got the car.

Here's the wheel, only in 22''. And don't worry, I'm dropping the car 1.5 in the front and 1.0 in the back too.

And to see how it would look colormatched in my color, here's a pic from another board. The guy works for West Coast Customs and those are Asantis.

What do you guys think would look better? Do you think the black would look good with the color of the car? Discuss... thanks in advance.

Definitely not my taste, but I'd color match if anything.

I’d be worried about brake cooling with such a “solid” pattern wheel.
That and the 50 pounds per corner they probably add.

not a fan of any wheel over 19" if they aren't going on a truck.

but if I were you, get the color matching wheels.

Little do you know that 22's fit like a glove on an M45. If you've seen any pictures of 20's on an '06 M you'd know that they look way too small for the big body of the car. Plus, 22's are only like $400 more expensive than 20's and I have stock 19's, so why would I spend $2500 for a one-inch difference?

^^^ On average, how much do the 22's weigh compared to the 19's or even the 20's???

I actually put the kill yourself option. I thought it was a nice touch. Come to think of it, the picture of the wheel actually does make it look pretty disgusting. I assure you that it looks a lot better in person.

And I'm still keeping the stock wheels Dom, but you could add that option if you'd like.

I'd say they're pretty damn heavy, but I'm not racing the car anytime soon and it's the summertime. If I wanted to track my car I'd add an exhaust, sway bar, intake, and try to run 13.8's all day, but I'm not doing it for this summer. I might go that route next summer.

I actually like having big wheels - it controls my speeding habit, as odd as that sounds.

Just a tad. 245/30/22's in New York City is not something to joke around about.

OK, since no one likes these wheels, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course, does anyone think a black wheel would look good on this car at all?

Yes. It would. Think aobut a BOLD 5-6 spoke design. You can even color match those. Not a fan of the Zenetti design. It has too much surface for color matching, unlike the Asanti sample you've provided.

Why not keep them black and put them on the car? Then, post pics of said wheels and get a feel if people think you should color match them, or keep them black.

well the car is a LUXURY car.. so trying to race in a car thats about style and class is pretty much just pointless.

how big is the lip?? i like the deep dish look... but that just me

They're going to look absolutely dreadful if color matched on top of that.

UPDATE: I put the wheels on the car today and I'm pretty sure you guys were all wrong about the wheel looking bad on the car. It happens to look pretty damn good in the black/chrome lip. It happens to mesh well with the dark tint, blacked out headlights, and the mix of chrome accents on the car. I'll post pics either tomorrow or Thursday. The wheel gap is almost minimal, as I'm unable to put more than two fingers between the wheel and the fender and there's no reason to drop it either even though I have the springs ready to use. I'll be sure to post pics - I also put a 15'' flipdown screen in the backseat and I did the NAV/DVD hack as well.

You know I'll be there bro. I'm running on 30-series tires so I'll be in the right lane with my hazards on on the George Washington Bridge, but I'll make it there somehow.

Pics coming tomorrow afternoon - I think a lot of people will be surprised with how the car looks. I'm getting a lot of compliments so far.

Mike, forget Ross Dock. How about the Belt Parkway, Van Wyck, Whitestone Bridge, and every other road you have to take just to get there? I took one exit on the Belt last night just to see how it would be, and cars were passing me by like nobody's business at 1 in the morning with me doing 35 in the right lane. Scary shit, but I guess it's worth it in the end if I don't start blowing out tires and cracking wheels. :knocksonwood:
