My brother in law is looking to buy his wife a new truck , well used actully.
His 1st runner up is a 2007 GL 320 Bluetech from a MB dealer.
The turbo deisel tecnology is fairly new and he is asking me for my opinion since i am in the car buesness he is asking for my opinion and I know nuttin bout these trucks. It is a 2007 GL bluetech w/30K miles he says it fully loaded nav/dvd and everything.. The DLR wants $49,900.. It is about KBB retail in excelent condition retail...Funny cuz my zip code in north jersey it $52K and his zip in south jersey same options its $47K and we are only 100 miles apart.. I know the bluetech is on wards top 10 engines for 2007,2008 but that all I know.. Can anyone help me steer him in the correct direction!?!

 

Can't help ya on the price but the BlueTec engines are outstanding.

 

I've also heard many great things about the BLUETECH engines but I was never a big fan of the GL looks. The GL550 with the AMG appearance pkg helps a little. I think in terms of the competition and big sized suvs, I would pick the Q7 way before the GL.

His father has a Q7 and had quite a few problems with it .
It was like a year old and certified pre owned with a 100K bumper to bumper warrenty but hes front brakes warped (audi wanted like $600) and his battery dies (which was under the front seat so they charged like $300 to replace) He has got most the money back from Audi cuz the brakes were suppose to be brank new on it and the battery should not die on a car that is 1 year 6 months old so he is staying away from Audi i guess. He needs something with a 3rd row that people can fit in and room behind the 3rd row , no minivan so thats why he looked at the GL bluetech. On the KBB out of 35 reviews it is rated 4.1 outta 5 but alot of people had some electrical problems with it. He said he gets a bumper to bumper 100K warrety and the bluetech gets better gas milage then any other 7 person hauler just wanted to see if anyone knows anyone who owns one or has owned/drove one..

I personally think they should get a saturn outlook or buick enclave cuz they are very roomyt and priced right for all the stuff they come with but he wants something with a little more status i guess!
