What do you guys think about the reasonable price for this car?????
Hi AZ people.
i have a question about appropriate price for MB e-class.
My mother currently considering to purchase 2008 Mercedez Benz E350
Which has huge options on it. This vehicle has Designo edition.
The MSRP of this vehicle was about $67,800. and Current discussed price was about around $55,000. They got discounted about 12g off due to demo vehicle deduction. However, this car has arrived almost a 10month ago with 9 month of warranty running and sales it as a used car [ 37 miles on odometer ].
Does this car's asking price which is $55,000 is really beneficial and appropriate price at this point? if it is not, what you guys think about appropriated price of this car??
My opinion is that the asking price about this car is still high due to lists of reasons.
1. New 2010 full changed model will release end of next year.
2. The warranty has been activated for 9month out of 48month.
3. The Mercedez benz has extremely less used value.
4. At this point, Designo edition or regular edition looks same shit for me since this car regards as a demo.[Leather has some dirts on the surface]
5. Has been in the dealer showroom too long time. [ Afraid of mechanical related
problems due to not using of the car]
But, My mother want to stick with current e-class even i have shown to her 2010 spy shot of future e-class which is better looking for me. Thus, i just decided to go
with what she want to have. she will be allright with demo version but she doesn't wanna go with used one.
In this situation, How about you guys opinion about the reasonable price?
Please help me out to figure the right price about that car.
Thanks.

Sounds like what was going on in the UK a while back (might still be going on) where the dealer titles the car to show a sale on AoA's books and then sells it used afterwards.
Anyway, that car is a year old in reality and for ownership purposes. It's going to be worth about 61% of MSRP in another year. So I'm thinking it should be about $51-53k ...
Figure 20-25% depreciation the first year, about 14-19% the second and then by the third it's about 50% off new so it's down another 11% or so.
Even if you get it for $51k, next year it'll be worth $41,450 and about $34k the year after that.
I guess you should ask your dad if he thinks it's worth pissing away $700/mo in depreciation or not.

Safety Car
id rather a 10 month old car be babied by one owner than be constantly used as a demo /showroom car. imagine 10 months of poking and prying by ongoing lookers. small kids kicking around in the backseats. oh the horror. no one is treating the car with respect.
would you rather start dating a girl that just got off of a 10 month relationship? or one thats been the neighborhood bicycle for 10 months??
