What do you guys think about the Nissan Murano?

Went to the car show last week and was looking at the '05 Murano. This year they added a backup cam and the "intelligent key" where you just keep the remote in your pocket and start the car........heard a rumor that you can remote start too, not sure if that's true, but anyways, what do you guys think?

I don't like the styling. Looks like a weird bubble on wheels.

I prefer the FX series. But it's still a very nice package.

Trunk is too small and the interior looks like cheap plastic.

I like the FX, too, but the Murano has better visibility at the wheel.

I was impressed with it when I test drove it. It handles almost like a sports sedan, has good midrange acceleration and the interior space is very impressive given it's apparent external styling. The only hangup I have is that it does kind of lag off the line but, it does get going.

Another negative: a fully loaded Murano can run you near the price of an RX330 .

If I owned the Murano I would be wishing everyday that I had bought the FX. Hate it but truly lovin the Infiniti FX! The styling of the Murano is just too bland.

That's the first time I've ever "heard" the Murano referred to as bland. I cant imagine how you'd consider the outgoing Pathfinder.

Yea, I wouldn't call the Murano bland. A bland SUV to me are Explorer's, Pilot's, Highlander's, 4Runner's, Tahoe's, Durango's etc.

Don't get me wrong, if someone bought me a Murano I'd drive the heck out it. And when it first came out I thought it was cute. Then I saw the FX, oh my god! I feel in love with it and kind of kicked the Murano to the curb like a bad habit. I guess just in comparison to the FX the Muran is bland looking.

My boss at work has a fully loaded Murano. I even said to her, for that money, you could've gotten the Infiniti FX or the Lexus.

Well, the Murano fully loaded with nav., dvd entertainment, leather, hid, bose, intelligent key, etc. etc. comes to $36k. The RX with no options is $36k, with navi., dvd, etc. comes to $47k. So it's more than a few bucks.

Not quite...I built a Murano at Nissan's website...fully loaded with AWD and technology package and Touring package, along with sunroof, dynamic control package (tire pressure monitor, etc),roofbars,...comes out to $40,710.

I tried to building it at carsdirect.com

I checked on everything on the AWD SL model and it came out to $38k. The RX with everything is $43k. The FX35 with everything is $44k, but it's the '04 model.

Please remember that you probably will not own the vehicle for the rest of your life. The Lexus will hold it's resale value far better than the Murano. You will get more than the cost difference back at resale or trade. You will also have service at a Lexus dealer and have a longer warranty. Also, you will not spend those years driving something that your friends think is funny looking.

On Edmunds both the Murano and RX330 retain their values at the same rate.

Let's check it again in 2008. Lexus vs Nissan, which will hold value better? I would bet my personal fortune on the Lexus but YMMV.

i hate nissan and infiniti (murano and fx) my fx had a leaky sunroof, gas tank not filling up, radio not working, headlights not working, interior lights not working...being bought back under lemon law tomorrow at 3:30PM!

Well, honestly, between the two Murano and FX, the FX IS superior in every way. It drives like a sporty car not an SUV. Pretty fun to drive. As much as I hate Nissan/Infiniti now, I still have to be honest and say if it wernt for the problems, it is a damn nice car.
