These kind of threads are fun. I'll re-post one I used on another forum that's even got pics of my recent cars...

I'll list cars I've owned and a quick summary:

'65 Mustang Shelby - The Reason I love cars today

'89 Mustang GT - One of the best cars I've owned. 150k miles, only replaced water pump. It got me through college and to and from there to home quickly! Handles poorly. Dad totalled. Kind of ironic b/c when we bought it (well, my dad paid for most and I paid for as much as I could + gas/insurance) My dad was worried it was too much car for me. hehe

**'94 Ford Escort - First car to buy out of college. My wife really bought it right before we got married. It was just fine for its purpose. Reliable and comfortable.

'94 Mustang GT - Sucked balls. Owned for 4 months. First new car out of college. Totally let down by Ford. After my '89, I was so in love w/ Mustangs I didn't read or test it enough pre-purchase.

'95 SHO - Loved that car! Friend who bought a Ford dealer got me out of the crappy '04 Stang and into this without killing me financially. Only problem, FWD. Other than that, solid as nails and ran like a bat out of hell. (For its day) Comfortable and easy to mod. Handled well too for a giant pig of a sedan. It was the last of the cool SHO's then Ford ruined it like they did the Mustang.

**'95 - Eclipse GS-T = POS! Hated this car. Rattle trap piece of garbage with stuff falling apart constantly. Wish we had kept the Ford Escort it replaced.

**'96 - 240SX - Loved this car. You guys know this car better than me probably. It was a fun car to drive and well balanced. Even without leather, it had a decently fun interior.

'97 (I think?) Z3 - POS... hated it. Car had no balls. Only looked cool... to some.

'99 SLK 230K with AMG stuff (skirts, wheels, etc) - LOOOOOVED this car. Quick, kinda.. and handled very well. Fun to drive. New at the time and got a lot of attention, which I usually hate to get, but had fun with it in this car. It was silver with 2-tone black/red interior. The hard top convertable is the only way to go for a drop top!

**'99 Lexus GS300 - Excellent luxury car. Quiet and cushy.. is that a word? Only complaint was that it lacked a soul. It was too much like driving a cloud.

'00 911 996 C2 - Ah, the good old days. My first 911. I finally got a digital camera, so I have pics of the rest of the cars I'm listing.
This car was my first big purchase of a car. It speaks for itself. It was an incredible car! I ordered it, and waited 6 months for its arrival. That was one of the longest 6 months of my life.

'01 Explorer Sport Trac 4x4 - This was my daily and/or hunting truck, etc. It served a true utility purpose and for the money, you can't beat it. You can see it out the window of the 911 in this pic.

'02 911 996 C2 - Porsche updated the engine to a 3.6l and gave it another 24 HP. I was able to sell the '00 for $1500k under what I paid new, so it was a no-brainer. This car was a significant improvement from the '00. It had a bit more torque, slightly stiffer chasis and finally a tolerable stereo. hehh

**2002 BMW 330i - Kick @ss sedan!! Handled almost as well as the 911's... it felt like it anyway. It also felt like it was cut from one piece of stone. It was extremely fun to drive.

2003 Explorer - A daily and ultimately a mommy SUV when my daughter came along. Not worth posting a pic or describing much. It's a nice AWD Eddie Bauer but who hasn't seen an Explorer?

'02 996 Twin Turbo - Not much to say other than the best car in this range you can buy IMO. I evaluated 355's (used abviously because everyone knows they weren't made after '99 except for 1 guy on this board ) and 360's. I also somewhat considered an NSX and Viper, but ruled those out quickly. The Ferraris lost to the Turbo because I like to
1) drive my cars relatively frequently... relative to F-car guys
2) I track 'em, and it's a much better car around the track IMO.
3) I don't like attention drawn to me for a car generally.
4) Dependability, the Porsche owns... it's like driving a Honda in those terms... sorta.

This car is a pure joy to drive!

'05 Acura TL - My recently acquired daily driver. This best sedan for the $ today by far... IMO. I love this car so far. I only have 400 miles, so not a lot of comments other than it's awesome to drive and I love the blue tooth and other toys these are fitted with...

Lastly..... '02 (if they have model years) EZ-Go 9 battery 18 mph beast!!
Seen here next to the Acura. I used it play golf but at times, we take it to the pool...

** <--- wife mainly drove

I have been to several track events and DE's put on by the local Porsche club, there are several planned for this summer

1st

1990 maxima, 160hp.

Man that car was put together and moved fine. I remember being next to an acura coupe(1994) at a red light, never made anything serious out of it, red lights used to be a fun thing, punch it n go. Anyways I put this Acura in its place till 60( car length ahead) where I was willing to back off, but before I backed off, this Acura clearly had something my Nissan did not. I think it had a combination of a manual and an engine(vatack) but in the end this two door put a couple bus lengths on me after 60mph- as he gave me the finger( was an older guy-probably hurt that he couldn't beat an auto 160hp family sedan to 60).

Would have been nice if I had that manual 190hp se though, just shrugged it off though, like what was up his ass, heh.

1983 Toyota Cressida (only automatic I've ever personally owned)
1988 Mustang LX 302 CID
1994 Honda Accord EX
1996 Ford Contour SE
2000 SVT Contour (#379 out of 2150 made)
2002 Altima SE
2004 Acura TL

All were purchased new.

Oops, I left off my 2001 Ford Ranger pickup which I still own and drive pretty much on a daily basis to work to protect my TL.

Now as for the quickest, it was the 1966 SS 396/360 Chevelle without question. In box stock condition (well, a simple alteration to the Holley's secondary throttle arm and the Delco distributor and tires) it was good for 13.2's.. After the addition of Hooker headers, an R3310 780 CFM Holley dual-feed carb, and LS-6 valve sprints and retainers.. 12.8's were in order. Next was my 1988 Mustang and, of course, it also received the requisite mods.

As for handling, my two Ford Contours top the list.. especially my 2000 SVT. There is just no way an Acura TL can hope to match the handlling prowess of an SVT Contour.. most sedans can't .

And as for reliability, it goes to my 1988 Mustang LX 302 and my 2001 Ford Ranger. The TL is tied for reliability with my 1996 Contour SE.

Finally for overall satisfaction and sheer joy of everything (and I mean everything, from the sound system to the looks to the ... just everything you can think of) the winner is my 2004 TL. This is saying something with me.

In order:

1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS, Black, lowered, 4 speed, built 350, 15x7 American Racing mags. (8mpg, ultimate rich girl chick magnet. Trust me)
1979 280 ZX 5 spd., Cam, header, exhaust, throttle body (not exactly reliable, lied to parents about needing engine rebuild to get hot rod parts. Fast ass car)
1988 Integra 5spd., Bassani exhaust, Jackson header, Susp. Techniques suspension, 15x6 TSW baskets. (met its maker with a broken timing belt at 108K)
1990 Ford Taurus SHO 5spd., Borla exhaust, Tokiko shocks, Eibach springs (Borla exhaust added a true 35hp, suspension upgrades transformed car)
1988 Ford Mustang Police Issue 5spd., Global West subframe connectors, welded pickup points, tower brace (you would not believe the difference those mods made to the handling, otherwise an unreliable piece of crap. And this one was never put into Police use!)
1995 VW Golf 2.0 5spd., Neuspeed Suspension, crappy 15x6 Konigs (rearended on 880 with 133K on it, guy did me a favor)
1997 Subaru Legacy L 2.2 5spd., 16x7 Raceline RL-7s (the utterly indestructable car)
2003 Subaru WRX 5spd., Prodrive springs, Koni's, Samco Intercooler hoses, Prodrive exhaust, Helix rear endlinks, Enkei RPF-1s 17x7.5 (built at 5:00pm on a Friday afternoon apparently)
2004 Mazda 3 hatch back 2.3 5spd. (bad back forces sale of manual trans. car)
2005 Acura TSX AUTOMATIC, Gram Lights (more mods surely coming)

2000 Toyota Camry Solara--had for 2 months, junk. took it back.
2000 Toyota Celica GTS--had for 3 weeks, and wrote it off while chasing a friend who was driving my VW...crash ruled not my fault as other driver cut me off.

2001 Acura CL--S-the start of the addiction

2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Extra Cab--traded it back to the guy i bought it from for the new truck

1996 Porsche 911 Turbo--Still have it, by far the most brutishly powerful vehicle i've ever driven

2001 Honda S2000--let my sister use it mainly, sold it at 60k

2002 Acura TL-S--mrwiggs pimps it daily

2003 Chevy Silverado 2500HD LT Crew Cab--my daily driver
