what can i do in this situation??
i'll try to make this short and to the point
My fiance flew down to Miami today cause she is almost 99% buying our car tomorrow (i couldnt go cause of a big job at work)
now before you say you shouldn't send a woman to negotiate the price...we have been in contact with the dealer for 2 weeks, both of us, and have worked out a price, and put a deposit. shes not a noob when it comes to this stuff
anyway, she stopped at the dealer to look at the car, and let them know she was down there
the salesman, now keep in mind that this is a very high end car, asks her if he could buy her dinner, but doesn't offer to take her sister too(she flew down with her). so obviously he was trying to pick her up
she said no i have a fiance, you know that, i'm not interested, and was going to let it slide
then at 10:30 PM, he calls her cell phone and asks her to come out, he'll buy her a drink!!
this to me is totally unprofessional and uncalled for
i know she is good looking and guys will hit on her, that doesn't bother me.
but now i have every intention to get up tomorrow morning before she goes and signs the papers, to call the dealer manager and have this guy fired. i also want them to do something about the already inflated price of the car, if not we intend to press charges for harassment(if its even possible)
what is your guys take on this and how would you handle it??
please no smart ass remarks, cause i need to decide by 10:00 AM eastern time
i'm pissed at how unprofessional this a-hole is acting and think that whether you are buying a ford focus or a $280,000 car it shouldnt matter, they are a business and should act accordingly

I guess you can simply ask that guy to stop hitting on your fiance and if he continues, just report him to the head guy in that dealer.

thanks guys. ^ thats the car, in silver with black interior, black top, 6 speed.
called there this morning and talked to the manager and told him that i didnt appreciate her being harassed, he said she would not have to deal with him again, neither will anyone else. apparently he has a track record.
hopefully the papers are sigmed this morning, and we will take delivery wed. or thurs.(they are shipping it by train)
i may have some showroom pics in a few hours

my point to the sales manager was that i dont care if she was at wal mart buying things, no one should be harassing her( or any women for that matter), but you would think that at a place like that they would be kissing her ass.
now if it was complimentary and customary to ask the buyer out to dinner ON THE COMPANY, that would be a different story
well she's there now, so we'll see what happens

it will be $1200 over invoice, thats good considering its one of the last "new" ones in the country
they sold very quickly and arent making anymore this model year

i would follow up to make sure that ass was fired. he probably had a very nice gig working at an exotics dealership with high profile clients and hefty sales commissions to boot. maybe that perv will learn or someday piss the wrong guy off and get his ass beat down badly. good luck on the new car and man am i envious of that ride, it is sick! you must have a great job to afford such a prized trophy.

Well first off, to my knowledge, it's not against the law to "harass" a woman or a man in the manner in which you described. If you see an attactive lady and try to pick her up and keep at it a little, you're not breaking any laws. Stalking or getting physically aggressive is an entirely different matter and does come in the realm of illegality. The business, on the other hand, has a very real interest in not wanting their employees to push a customer in this way. So you probably handled it right by telling the manager about your displeasure.

yeah your right about the harassment in a legal way, there was none there. but from the business point of view, its not illegal, just not appropriate.
he was let go, she is dealing with a new sales guy, but who knows, if he is good, she leaves and maybe they take him back
i'm happy that they compensated us a little
although i know most of those things are given out upon purchase anyway

the dealership is supposed to send the pics to me today, he told them they work on sundays at that dealership, but i still never got them. she goesnt have access to a computer to send me any.
