Went car shopping today... some pics

so my buddy calls at lunch and asks if i want to check out cars with him. So of course i say YES.

His wife hated her 05 Honda Pilot so she wanted something else. Looked at a VW toureg and a 4.6 X5.

I drove both. The toureg has such a nice steering feel, very tight. The V8 is pretty powerful and doesnt feel much slower than the 4.6 X5. Handling was very nimble for a SUV. The toureg has soo many cool toys in there, so many buttons. The air suspenion was wild and the navi was pretty damn good for a euro car.
Love the toureg but hear bad things about reliablity. This one was selling for $36k with 24k miles. So not bad at all for the V8.

The X5 4.6 was a beast! The rumble was such a turnon and it handled better than most cars i have driven! Bmw navi sucked but we all knew that.

His wife bought the X5 4.6 with 27k miles for $48k then.

Sorry to sound somewhat racist, but a big black guy looking at buying a Bentley? And you didn't get his autograph?

Edit: I love the new revised front end on the new Bentley sedans, so

Good for her. Buy a BMW X5 before the new Bangled model reaches dealers.

I really can't believe the garbage that's coming from BMW in terms of interior design. I was sitting in the BMWs at the car show and when I went into an X5 it felt like a breath of fresh air. The layout was pretty, the leather padding/inserts on the interior door panels looked rich and cushy.

I hate the uninformed car buying public more than anything else. Like when my friends say "I'd never buy a Lexus because it's an expensive Toyota"

nah...maybe bigger boi!

I don't understand the hard ons people have for Bentley's. opinions as like assholes but personally I don't feel them. I know they are ultra lux, blah, blah, blah, but I am just not a huge fan. The continental (I believe it's the coupe) looks nice though. There are plenty of other cars I rather have if I had the money to get a bentley.

I've like Bentley's well before they ever became remotely popular.....going back to the 89 Turbo R. Remember going to the dealer when that rig came out.

I was always impressed by the workmanship and to the exclusive nature of the car/brand. The company always had mystique to it, especially the days when Rolls/Bentley didn't advertise HP ratings.

To be honest, I don't really like the new GT or the Flying Spur because they aren't true Bentleys imho. They are just well disguised VAG products. This has nothing to do with them being bad cars, they aren't. The GT is actually an awesome car. What's not to like about 552hp and AWD.

I'm not sure about the 05 Touaregs, but I know the '04's navi is a disaster. Once of the worst I'm ever tried using, worse than BMW/MB.

Pilot seemed like a good car to me. But she said it was boring, but then again this is a woman who sold her e46 m3 convertible for it.

same as shopping by badge. Accords and civics would be fine for most people. Everything else is extra. You can't drive an acura and say people who shop by badge are doing something wrong.

Good Ole Luxury Motors. I wouldn't purchase a car from them. On a side note, a car full of guys probably 21-24 pulled up next to me in a new Continetal GT. The car was beautiful!
