What about an Envoy? We have one, and for a truck its great. Rides nice, has been pretty problem free, and we can haul our boat around with it. Plus with the towing package they're pretty quick. They also just came out with a Denali version, but even a loaded one is pretty nice.

The new IS is totally different. Larger for one thing. The 250 will offer awd and the 300 will have >300hp.!!

What about the 300C, it comes with AWD too. I know some people that have them and they love it. Also the 2006 are already coming out.

I was just about to say that. Really gives off an air of superiority. I loved ours, very roomy and smooth.

The New Range Rover had been completely redesigned, i would not consider one if it had all those problems ..

I'm in the Same boat PGA, MERC pass, JAG err ok not bad, but nothing i'd feel buying, its hard to find something to replace the CLS

I can write off a truck over 6000 pounds. up to a certain limit I believe.
I believe the 6000lbs is for the "GVWR" and not the curb weight of the vehicle. So the F150 and the Aviator qualify since both are over the 6000lbs GVWR rating.

I believe they are cutting back on that tax loop hole though after people got pissed about doctors writing off their Hummers and other monstrosities.

Is the sole reason for you needing AWD or 4x4 the fact that you will be driving on construction sites?

You scoped out the S40 and the S60, what about the S80? I'd say roomier then either one, I think it has awd, not sure about that one. It might look a bit older, especially for you. Try it out and see what you think...

Can tell you from my work experience going from construction site to site, awd/4x4 isn't needed at all. I'm sure its nice in the winter though, driving from site to site in the snow.

My family deals a lot with construction, and we drive our lowered Bimmers around construction sites all the time. But having a truck blends in better as some of the workers are anti-foriegn cars for some reason.

Don't know if it's been said, but did you try the S60R? I love the way those look and they're no slouches either.

The site I'm on now under the WaltWhit(250mil high rise project), the company running the project- they are driving a porsche cayenne and an x5 4.6 from site to site to give people an idea. All day long, either a street car can enter site or nothing can.

Jeep Grand Cherokee (since you already like Jeeps)
GS300 AWD
325/330XI

It sounds like you need an SUV, so I would go with the Jeep.

We just bought a '05 Murano SE w/ SE package (Merlot color) for my wife about 4 months ago. We both love it. Can't go wrong w/ Nissan's 3.5L engine. The AWD and CVT are pretty cool too. Weird at first since there is no "shift" to "feel" how fast you're going. 0-60 in low 7's isn't too bad for a SUV either. Fits 5 people very comfortably...especially good if you have really tall friends you want to sit in the back. $34k w/ TTL --> out the door.

I'd go check out a Saab 9-5. The 9-3 might be too small but the 9-5 might fit you right.
the nice thing about the 9-5 vs a SUV is mileage. with a Yukon you may only get 15 mpg highway where a 9-5 will get 20-23 mpg. and at 2.25 (around here) for prem. you need to save every way you can.

why AWD when you will be in NC? How fast do you plan on driving at these construction sites because you might need an STi or an Evo for that!

Seriously, I say take one of the jeeps and save your money for something better and faster in a couple of years.

If you didn't like the Murano (I'm guessing interior) then you might not like the Armada. Check out the new Pathfinder if you're going to a Nissan dealer.

What about the 4runner, Sequoia, or Land Cruiser since you wanna bling? Shit won't break for nothing.

I would go for the GC, either the 5.7L or if you want to spend even more $.....the SRT8. That's going to be rather $ though (with no incentives) and its arriving around January (not a September intro). The 2006 Overland edition will be out in September though, the usual more upscale ltd.

the Hemi sucks in mileage.
when my Tundra was in the body shop. I got a 05 Ram 2500 4x4 4 door that had the Hemi.
Keep in mind it was 85-90% highway rural driving. I got 10 mpg.
with my tundra 4x4 with the 4.7 I get 18-19 mpg.
with gas the price it is. I wouldn't even test drive a Hemi.
