That car has custom 1.5in flares on it. That is not a stock rear fender on that F. I know that cat and have seen it in person. It was a SEMA car and I know the guy that built it. So I wish I could run those wheels but no custom flares on a daily driver.

I don't like the Wald trunk spoiler unless it is molded.

Still on dream list is rear window spoiler, silver carbon think design rear set divide, carbon fog covers, black pearl badges, black chrome grill trim, custom black headlights, and headers lol does it ever end.

The only reason he won't do headers is his exhaust...would make it too loud for a DD. The headers do give appreciable gains, from what I've seen. I think he should just man up and deal with the drone .

Yes several people have installed headers with gains in the 35-40hp range. The issue is I bought an exhaust with no resonators or cats so replacing the headers would remove the last set of cats on the car. Also headers are between 1400 and install is another 600-700 because the engine bay is so cramped you have to actually drop the engine 4in to be able to install the headers so it isn't something I can do myself like everything else.

I will do them at some point probably but it will probably go along with an exhaust swap as well. I am probably done with the F for a while since the TSX has come back into focus right now. Only thing that may get added this year still is a rear window spoiler and the silver carbon rear seat divide to finish the complete interior look.

The exterior is mostly stock. Definitely looks good but I will pass on custom body work. I don't even like custom body work on the TSX.

I would have guessed that the Headers would have gains.. butt...

Is it throughout the powerband.. or just up top?

That's sweet. I agree that I am not a fan of doing any custom body work on my own car but that looks great.

I haven't looked into them that recently but the I am pretty sure it is pretty much across the power band. However even with headers, exhaust, and intake no one has broken 400whp without NX. There are numbers out there that say otherwise but none of the correct numbers are above that.

If I wasn't rebuilding the TSX I would probably do headers faster especially since someone is selling the more quiet and non droning exhaust that I want to run with them. Before anyone says anything about a more quiet exhaust the final setup with headers will be pretty much just as loud as my current setup with more power and basically no drone.

Yeah with the kit on the tips do seem a little short now. I have debated making a trip to Miami sometime this year to the place that makes the exhaust to have them fabricate it on the spot for my cause if the tips could be a little closer and a little longer it would be great.

headers + exhaust on ISF is LOUD. Almost ferrari level drone. May be too loud for a DD in suburbia.

oh, my vote goes towards molded Wald trunk. best exterior mod on the IS, imo. someone on CL even molded out their rear quarter panels to flow with the curvature of the Wald. Looks freaking awesome. you could find them post molded in the classifieds too.

I was not a fan of the one with the molded quarters really. Plus that is a lot of extra body work and means you can't easily part out later. This one here had a tone of custom work done to mold the Wald but the quarters were not touched.

I would keep the Lexus badge in the middle though.

oh, ive seen it molded like that. requires some shaving of the lip at the sides, leaving a duck bill affect... / wesley-snipes-white-men-cant-jump hat look

I like the duckbill look I like the other look as well but it is the so much more permanent part that I am not a fan of.

There is also this complete trunk replacement however the fitment doesn't look that great as you can see the taillights don't really line up very well. The though is almost 1500.

Regardless either one of them is really low down on the list right now.

I like that trunk better then the molded trunk on the white one - but that might be because the emblem is missing so theres nothing there to break up that big slab of trunk.

Maybe as the last thing not to mention I would have to figure out how to make it fit like stock. Did I mention it is also made of carbon so I would paint it but leave the plate tub carbon.

Shims, shims and shims. I have a carbon trunk on my CL and it was a PITA to get it to fit "properly". I still dont have trunk springs on it right now because it was causing the entire trunk to buckle.

So coming back from to NC from visiting the family Easter weekend I had another unfortunate event. I was going up a mountain section of route 81 in VA and was in the center lane. Had 2 or 3 cars to my left, a piece of an animal in my lane, and a dear carcass in the right lane. So unfortunately my best plan of action was to hope what was in my lane was small enough to go under my front. Well it wasn't About a mile past where it happened I saw a car pulled over with their 4 ways on and someone looking at the front of their car. I assume they are the one that hit the deer and what I hit was a piece of it maybe a leg or something. As you can see in the pics what I hit was pretty fresh meat still.

The damage doesn't look to bad from the pics but since it is carbon it can't be fixed obviously. However, with the lip being hallow the entire underside was cracked out. Also where the point is at the side of the lower grill there is a bolt whole and that bolt was ripped through the lip. Luckily it is all being covered by insurance now. Just will take 3 months to get the replacement from Japan.

I insure every aftermarket part on my cars. Check out my TSX thread. Insurance is rebuilding my car from the deer accident. Yes it cost more but is absolutely worth every penny. Most of the big insurance companies won't do this though so if they advertise on TV don't even bother looking into it with them.

It isn't that drastic of a change so the Toyota ECU is able to adjust on its own actually. The way Toyota ECUs are they work extremely well for bolt-ons and don't need a tune. It is when you get into forced induction that it becomes a problem and for now there is no tuning solution for the IS-F. Heck the only one for the IS350 that exists is from HKS which is made for the JDM IS350 and to use it for the US version you have to repin pretty much the entire wiring harness.
