Well...the S2000 needed more doors, more driven wheels, and a lot more torque...

breh.. you don't get a Golf R in a manny.
You get a GTI in a manny, you get the R in DSG.

Dang only 48k miles. That is nice and low. Too soon for me though. Won't be in the market till the V is paid off in 2 years. Good luck though.

I wouldn't say that... I mean, it's not like Sam is getting rid of the s2000 and dumping the money into his retirement savings... He's looking to replace it with a different toy altogether. I think he was looking at a Jeep Wrangler, next, if I'm not mistaken. He can have plenty of top down fun in one of those... And without doors also... Just 2 feet higher off the ground vs the s2000

Just a little slower...

Either that or cut through the grass, dirt, rocks, sand, whatever might be in the middle of the corner.

Pulled up to an unsuspecting victim today. Some bro (literally, backwards hat and all) in a TLX A-Spec tried to take me off the line from a traffic light...results were predictable. The look he gave me at the next light was priceless. Sorry his ego got hurt by an economy hatchback.

One of my favorite Golf R features is that, to the average person, it looks the same as any other Golf and even more mundane than the GTI.

Nice! On a side note, the TLX A-Spec AWD was such a disappointment to me when I found out it was literally a rehash of the 2G RL on the inside, but lighter and less comfortable lol

In what sense is it a rehash? 2G RL doesn't have a double screen dash

By inside I meant powertrain lol. 290HP V6 that’s literally pulled out of the 2G RL. I popped the hood and had flashbacks to my car lmao. At least they gave it a cool transmission, but it does 0-60 in 6 seconds flat, vs 6.2 in my RL, but it weighs 500lbs less? I was so thrown off driving it. I test drove it when I was shopping since it fell in my budget. Honestly, for the most part, if I didn’t look down, it felt like I was driving my 2G but a little sharper. I guess it just didn’t feel like it was enough of an upgrade from what my RL gives me.

I'll get a proper photo shoot done sometime soon. This weekend was a bust as my wife's grandfather passed so we had to rush up north 5 hours to where her family is from for the funeral. On the upside, another reason I love this car...300hp (almost) and AWD yet this:

In race mode it's an absolute bonkers hot hatchback. In comfort on the highway, it's a Golf SE.

That's insane...the mpg.
I might have to bite the bullet on newer cars and higher efficiency.
Especially with premium being $3.75 right now in Sofla!

Holy crap that's expensive. I just filled the R with premium for ~$2.84...

If this doesn't sell the GTI, I'm not sure what will... I'd imagine that it would do even better with only FWD and lower engine output. I was not hyper miling it either, this was just set cruise and go for ~250 miles.

God damn ... that's GREAT gas mileage.

It makes you think .. what ARE the draw backs for a car of this price point? I'm having a hard time thinking of one.
