Well I missed my TL so......

I'm going to get two Acura's. I have regretted getting rid of my 03 TL-s for the past year and a half. Currently I drive a POS Mazda6. I'm looking to get a 3G TL or a 7th gen accord and get my wife a 2G TSX, but here is where I need some help deciding.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Do I trade in my Mazda for the 2G TSX, or the 3G TL/7th gen accord?

I owe about 11k on my car and it's worth about 7-9 or something. My wife's car is paid off already, so I could sale that car private party.

I'm waiting for the bank to approve a house that we are buying so I have sometime before I buy the new cars probably wouldn't be until December or January.

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks

Kevin

Why not trade in both cars? I'm just asking. That way, it doesn't matter which car you are trading for.

Well since the Corolla is paid off, I think I can probably get more through private party.

I would go with a 3G TL. Having had one, never had any problems with it, still looks "modern", drives great as a DD, and looks better than accord

I'm also stuck between a 2009 TSX tech and a 2007 or 2008 TL with Navi. I need a nice highway cruiser, my requirements are good on gas, comfortable, quiet and must have NAVI.

I've owned a 3G TL before, but never a TSX.

TSX is better made than the TL. TL is better looking though. I would assume you can get a higher trade-in when buying the car with higher MSRP. But I read somewhere that you are supposed to negotiate the price on the car you're buying first, and tell them about the trade in afterwards.

Yea, I'm going to go in and not say anything about the trade, not until the price is set.

What I may just do for right now is trade the 6 in get the TSX, drive the Corolla for a year or so and then get the TL.

why not keep the corolla? It's a good reliable commuter car...cheap on gas etc. Just get a TL/accord. Saves you from 2 car notes.

Well if your getting a car for you and your wife is keeping hers pick the one you like best, i like the tl over the tsx, unless your talking 4g tl then its the other way around.

Either way your upside down on the trade in, tsx might be a little cheaper

If you are in the mist of buying a house, stay completely away from car dealers. You might want to wait until after your mortgage closes escrow and you have moved in. Also, trading in the upside down Mazda just carries that situation forward.

Wait til you get the key to the house, or better yet wait until after you make your first payment.

Yea get the house first, then worry about the cars. It seems like the cars are on the want side and not on the need side of things. You probably know this but most divorces are because of fianancial problems. Not trying to jinx you but you really have to be more wiser in making such big changes. The car is usually the 2nd biggest purchase of your life with a home being first.

I second (third and fourth) on waiting until you get the house/mortgage before buying/trading in cars. We just bought a house and even though I have the money to buy a new car outright, I decided not to until everything goes through. You just never know with banks these days.

I'm def going to wait for escrow to close and the first payment is made, I was just seeing what was the best option to do, I'm a planner so I like to plan stuff ahead of time, also we are very wise with our money.
