Duc FTW.

Oh, and whoever said that Ducatis don't do well on the track, they did WIN MotoGP last year by a substantial margin if I recall....

i freakin love the honda cbrs..... but nice bike bro =).. better keep watch ofit... my friend got his stolen 3 weeks after he got it.... he only had liability and didnt receive a dime from insurance because he couldnt afford the full coverage...

Cool, never rode a 250 but riding is still lots of fun. Stay safe out there. I wanted a 600RR so damn badly but I don't think I can afford insurance and payments on a bike.
Even practicing in an huge, empty parking lot I still wore a helmet and gloves.

Well, got my permit on Friday!! I also signed up for the MSF course which will be Jan. 18-20...
Then yesterday, my neighbor took me out and we went to the clubhouse parking lot in our community to work on some stuff. Started off with clutch walking, and by the end of my "lesson" was working on the "grab 2, stomp 2" with braking and downshifting. He even had me lock up the rear brake a few times to show me what happens, etc. It was really good and I learned a lot. Looking forward to learning more
And yes, wore my helmet and gloves as well as boots...

Awesome man!
I have been thinking a lot about getting another bike come Spring. I just don't think I could go without one. It'll suck having another monthly payment, but I know it will make me happy.

Its also just plain physics. When you grab a handfull of front brake, the nose dives and all the weight shifts forward. This of course lightens the downforce or the rear wheel, and increases the chances of a lockup if you step on the rear brake.

FYI, finally got to take the MSF class this past weekend after the first one was canceled. Passed with flying colors (100% on the written, only 1 point off on the riding)!!
Now I just have to get to the DMV this week to get my license and register my bike

1 pt off on the riding??? What happened?
I somehow aced it even though I almost dropped the bike on the quick stop. I literally was 2 inches from the bike hitting the ground, but I called upon my inner strength and was able to pull the bike back up, hahaha. Everyone was like...how did he ace it when he almost dumped the bike???? hahaha.

^ I got robbed IMO
In the quick stop, when I "stomped" the gear shift to downshift to first, the bike only went to neutral (it was hard to find neutral on that bike the whole weekend... probably b/c it's abused). Nothing I could do about it...

Yeah, I'll do them on different days. The one I went to off of Tryon for the permit only took about an hour including testing time.... so not bad. All I need to do this time is give them my MSF card and my license, take a new pic and get a new license... so shouldn't be that bad (hopefully).
Then I'll do the registration separately...

Junior...you are a lucky man to have a track only 30 minutes away. I have to drive 1 1/2 hours to get to one...but I guess that's closer than most people. Once you do one track day, you won't want to ride fast on the roads again...just doesn't compare.

Thanks all. I am very excited. And with temps the next two days in the mid-70's, then the 60's late week, I'm trying to find time to register this thing
2005 model... 2200 miles. I've put 10 miles on it around the neighborhood and in parking lots since I got it
LOL. I wish. I'd be happy with an 848... or even the new Monster 696. Even the Hypermotard is sweet. We'll see. The Yamaha R6 really has my eye also... that thing is hot in yellow.
That's what my neighbor (who used to do track days at VIR when he lived in NJ) tells me. He said it's so much more fun to be in a controlled environment where you don't have to worry about cages or dogs or under maintained streets, etc. This track has beginner classes, so he keeps telling me he wants to take me there.
I'll definitely do it... but I need to register the bike first. One thing at a time.

I'm picking up an '07 CBR600RR this weekend. White/silver setup. First Honda bike for me. I hope I will like it.
