TSX selling really well so why ruin a good thing by risking it and changing it too much. IMO
I'm not going to disagree with you that it is not a huge change from the 1st gen. My complaint is that they took it the wrong direction, I wish they sharpened the lines giving it more of an aggressive stance, instead they softened the lines and bloated it a bit and your left with a more sedate sedan. I'm sure it will sell, but it's not the car I hoped it would evolve into. If I was better at photoshop I would show you what I was talking about, where is Donnie Hoyle when you need him

Is there going to be a launch party at the Acura dealers for the new TSX?

I remember I got invited to Infiniti's launch party at my local dealer for the 2007 G35 sedan and then in January for the 2008 EX35. They sent me a postcard in the mail. It was free and they let you test drive the new G35 sedan. They served nice appetizers and food there, an Infiniti shirt, Infiniti keychain, and pocket organizer. Not bad for something that is free. Too bad Acura doesn't do that.

yeah, acura.ca was just updated. but something i noticed is ass-backwards (or maybe i'm reading wayyyyyyyyyyyyy off) on the acura.ca website, the auto is listed at 9.6/6.5/8.2 litres/100 km (for the AUTO) and 10.5/7.0/8.9 litres/100 km (for the MANUAL).. now... i just checked up on one of my review sites (www.canadiandriver.com) and they have they same thing listed. did acura come up with some super efficient (5 speed) auto?

if not, i'd hate to see the gear/differential ratio's.. for what is probably no increase in performance

The AT TSX has always had better MPG figures. Nothing new for 09.

Its in the Gearing.

Meh. I look at the new TSX & RL and all I see is this:

At that point, it doesn't matter what the interior, engine, electronics or handling are like, because I'll never get into one in the first place. It's like that quote from Pulp Fiction: "Sewer rat might taste like pumpkin pie but I'd never know, 'cause I wouldn't eat the filthy motherf***er."

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I like the 2nd gen TSX much better than the 1st. The grille isn't all that bad, and the rear and side profile of the car is great. If they offer it in the same red as the 1st gen, it'd be a nice looking car.

Unfortunately, the red changed. It's more of a burgundy type color (Basque Red I think it's called).

makes no sense that people are test driving the new 09 TSX now if the release date should be tomorrow? maybe they need to get the ball rolling on trying to sell this thing and let the public see it asap. haven't even seen the new 09 TSX commercial on television yet, just on youtube.

V-6 version is coming within a year, apparently. One thing is for sure, there's plenty of room under the hood for it.

Jeff from TOV was talking to one of the Acura execs at the NY Auto show when the TSX debuted. He asked if there was enough room for a V6 engine under the hood of the TSX and they gave a loud and clear "yes, there is plenty of room for a V6". I don't think an Acura exec would answer something like that without trying to drop a hint. Plus I am sure the Acura execs already knew how disappointed everyone was with the new engine before the NY show even happened so they were probably giving Jeff this info so everyone doesn't give up all hope.

let's hope and a nice refresh too in 2011 w/o the ugly grill too. Jeff should've said to the Acura execs gosh you guys are so far behind and slow.

If you said SH-AWD K23 turbo I would have believed it, but coupe and V6 I don't buy. What are they going to put in the new TL, a V8?

i remember seeing pics of the engine bay at the NY Auto show of the TSX and was puzzled why Acura removed the "i-VTEC, 2.4 DOHC" label on the new 09 TSX at the show. now, did they leave it out on the models they are selling now? if so, why would they remove that?

Saw a few sitting on the lot at my local Acura dealer (Acura of Glendale) as well. Gotta go for a test drive one of these days.

I drove the 09 TSX today and I like it more that I drove it. In my opinion the ouside doesn't look to bad in person. I like the rear end and the headlights look good exept for the fact that I can't get over the bulge in the headlight. The grill is still not looking good to me. I think if the ouside edge was painted it would look better because the look of the piece surrounding the emblem looks almost like a brushed metal. The next thing I don't like about the exterior is the cheap looking grey plastic around the fog lights and in the air dam. Two other problems for me on the outside were the large roundish mirrors and the side skirts or lack of. The only colors they had were black white, polished metal, and grigio. Im not sure about the grigio but the others looked good. I would get either black or white if I was going to buy one.

The interior is very nice and is a lot like the RDX interior. It is more luxurious than sporty. I like all of the changes and upgrades in the interiorand it feels a lot bigger (could be good or bad depending on who it is).

When driving the car I noticed a smoother more luxurios ride rather than a sporty ride but it might just be because I am use to my TSX with coilovers. I can notice the extra torque since the car was a little more powerful from a stop. Personally I don't really feel too many similarities between the 09 and my 06. I like it but it isn't enough to make me trade in my 06.

I took a couple pics. The first is an 08 next to an 09. There is a TL in the back and it looks lie the TSX is the same size and maybe even wider than the TL.

This is a close up of the side skirt that looks cheap to me.

I wish I was just being funny, but that's exactly what happened. And judging from the cavernous engine bay, seems quite possible.

I drove the auto because it was one that had already been driven about 35 miles by the sales people.

thanks for the pics NJSGTI, man, looking at the pics of the old and new TSX right next to each other, the old TSX looks anorexic compared to the new TSX, which looks chunky.

the new TSX does look wider, longer, and taller than even the TL!

but seeing the side by side comparison, the grille is really going to take a lot getting used to. it really looks bad.

My local dealer has 5 or 6 on the lot. I stopped to check em out and I'm not feelin it at all. It just seems huge compared to the 04 I had. I did like the interior though, didn't get to drive one as they were closed when I got there. I may drive one tomorrow just to check it out. I'm not in the market for a car, but that doesn't mean I can't drive one.

before i saw the size of the TSX, i figured the TL was going to be big after seeing the size of the accord.

i think the 09 TL will be the same length and size, well maybe a little more fat than the 99-03 TL.

I saw a commercial on TV last night, maybe during Shark? I immediately checked the Acura website and Edmunds and neither had the cars - other than Acura's future vehicles.

As for the car itself? Not great, but not horrible.
