Want a new car this year, thinking Acura or Lexus.
So Im a big fan of Acura/Honda based on my ownership of the Civic, TSX and TLS, the Acura TLX looks like a great car and it has that V6 to boot, the ILX dont look too shabby either and even though I love the V6 Im fine with a 2.4
So Acura has always been on my mind but I gotta say the Lexus IS300/350 are very good looking and have the power to boot, Honda/Acura is ever reliable but so is Toyota, its nice that the IS models are made in JP too. I will say this, if I could afford an ISF I’d take it in a second. Based on my budget I’d be looking at a 2015/2017 maybe and a budget of around 25k max, anyone drive all these cars? Thoughts? |
Go with the IS350 if you can. You can find a 2016 around your price range. I don't know that you're going to do a lot better than that based on your parameters.

What does reliability mean to you? Sure the Acura v6 is tried and true, but the tranny is not fun.
|
Is350!

I was curious about the reliability of the current Acura’s, they sure do look nice though, honestly I have been leaning toward the IS350 for quite some time, wanted to hear what people had to say on here though.

Another vote for Lexus IS.
|
I drove a J35, ZF-9 combo a while back... It was awesome, but IS350 would kick it's ass!
|
Just look at how fast! And this is the older gen!
|
The newer gen is350 is actually not as fast as the older gen.

That's sad.
I drove the TLX. Solid car and I didn't hate the tranny. I haven't driven a newer IS but I did get slapped around in my modified TL by my co-worker's 2006 IS Tree Fiddy |
Might I suggest you expand your search and go test drive a B8.5 S4?
It's about within your budget and I think you'll be shocked at how you feel driving a dual clutch with a supercharged V6. |

I like the look of the TLX A Spec and that played into why I picked one up. I also had a TL before and traded in for another Acura to get more coin.
However, I really wanted a IS350 F-Sport. So......you do you man. |
IS350 > TLX
/endthread |
Apparently, even
IS250 > TL-S :tomato: |
Apparently IS350 F Sport > TL 3.7 SH-AWD

I wouldn't be caught dead in a 250 Unless your city is a giant parking lot... Oh wait... |
Any car with ZF9 is dead to me....
With that being said, you need to get your priority list done... i would take Accord V6 or 2.0T before V6 TLX any day of the week. |

The new gen, the faster I have seen is 14.1@101mph or something like that. It's about the same as a TLX. |

Yea back when the 2006 is350, the test numbers were great. We are talking about 0 to 60 in less than 5 seconds and 1/4 mile in mid 13s at 106mph.

Nocturnal emissions regulations.
|
STR8 pipe it? 💡
|
TLX is pretty underwhelming.
Go with IS350 FSport if those are the only two cars you are cross shopping. |
IS250 is for asian girls who dgaf about the performance. No men should drive that. It's as slow as Prius.

No. I drove one and it isn't fast, but it still handles like a hoot! It's super smooth and quiet. And most of all, plentiful.

The TSX was slow too...
Anyway... We aggree that the 350 is the one to get, and that's all that really matters here |
Dude, he's in a 400 hp fast car, everything feels boring and slow to him!

Says the guy with the 400hp S/C V6 & formerly the 556hp S/C V8 :pofl:
I was thinking about that...now I'm happy...still fast and 28 mpg on the highway, the only thing the Caddy was missing to make it a good daily commuter with substantial driving.

Problem with that is maintenance costs.
in comparison to other VAG platforms... major stuff at least, not talking about little annoyances and things you need to replace. |
