Volkswagon sign then drive event

Im sure you guys have seen this advertised where you put 0 down at signing. My gf is serioulsy thinking about doing this because she is looking to lease a new car and loves the Jetta. I was wondering if any of you guys knew anything about this or the downsides to this program. Let me know. Thanks!

0 down at signing does not mean you won't be putting money down on the car.

It just means the down payment comes after the warranty has expired.

Hey-Oh!

Everyone I know that has bought a Jetta or Passat has ended up regretting it because of reliability issues. I'd check around the VW/Jetta forums to see what people are saying just in case.

Go for it. Sign and drive programs are the best lease contracts.

Ask what is the money factor on the VW lease. It could be a bait thing where you pay nothing up front but get you on the interest rate which is called money factor in leasing. If the rates and terms sound ok I would lease a VW instead of buying it outright to see if the damm thing is halfway reliable.

The interior materials might be first rate, but does that matter if it sounds as if there were a baby tooth clattering around insided the dash? Volkswagen loyalists get used to these problems. Honda and Toyota fans would be appalled.

Not at all. You literally sign the contract and drive the car. $0 out of your pocket. I've seen plans of $199 a month for 36 months with $0 due at signing here in South FL for Jettas.

It is a nice car, but I agree VW tend to get back to the shop for electrical issues. Just make sure the dealer can guarantee a free loaner if this happens.

I got my XC90 with $0 due at signing. Well I paid $200 for registration and tags. That was my total out of pocket.
