Volkswagen retard

okay my buddy with a 03 GTI 1.8 Turbo and I was argueing over which would be a better tuner hatch the next gen Civic Si or VW( I think its) 2.0 Turbo.
I said "the thing is with turbos no matter how much you perfect them they will never be as instant power as natural aspired motor as like a V-TEC"
he said :" V-TEC has 2 times the 'lag" of any turbo car he's driven because you gotta hit the 'v-tec range' in order any power to produce much like the turbo spool out"

I think he's a retard because I've driven both forced induction cars(both S/C and turbos) they don't have the bottom end responce like a N/A car.
what do you guys think

Its a moot point, the new VW turbo will be a direct inject turbo motor, and from what I am told it will be very difficult to get tuned like the old 1.8T. Anyone who thinks a 1.8T motor is the end all, has not had it long enough to experience the problems you will have; VW has been plagued with reliablity problems, in no short part due to the lovely 1.8T.

SC cars have way more bottom end then N/A cars if it's a roots blower. And he's pretty dead on about the vtec lag, cars don't start making power till they hit the crossover, and that's usually not till let's say 5000 rpm. By then most turbo cars have hit full boost around 2,500-3,000 unless it's an oversized turbo, but it sounds like we are talking about stock cars.

and FYI, you need to stop posting for a few days, I never realized what an idiot you are (and that's comming from me)

This thread may be on par w/ your Lebron one, but I figure you'll post this and never come back

Come on get serious, hamster-powered engines this is a automotive enthusiast based site, don't bring those absent minded statements up in here. Everyone knows they use gerbil-powered engines

and fyi, turbo technology has come a LONNGGG way lately, i've seen quite a few upgraded setups that achieve full boost before 2,000 rpm.

this is my personal thoughts I like the sounds of V-TEC vs turbo. plus (correct me if I'm wrong) can't you get more RPMs out a N/A motor vs a forced induction motor. look the S2000 you can get 10k rev out of that motor stock the next generation Civic Si you can get 8 k rev out of that motor stock, I don't know the kind of revs you can get out of a WRX Sti or new VW 1.8T GTI?but i highly doubt if it will hit the 8 or 10k mark.

and the initial statements he made in his thread

RPM range isn't nearly as important as gearing. Sure an S2K can rev to 10K which is awesome. But put it next to a turbo car which generally have wider gearing, they'll be shifting at the same point so the point is moot. But yes, in general turbo cars don't rev as high as N/A ones.

Once again, you just need to admit you've got no clue what you are talking about.

I'll try to remember this when my Grand National leaves the tree at 24 lbs. boost on the way to another 10 second run. Turbocharged engines have almost a limitless potential, and todays turbo cars with intercoolers, electronics, plumbing, and twin turbo/smaller diameter setups have virtually done away with any lag.

The fact that you ramble, rant, and have a plethora of nothing but diareha coming out of your finger tips.

I've said it before, you seem like a good stand up midwestern kid. But for fucks sake you need to learn to shorten your posts...and well post with some intelligence.
I am pleasantly surprised you didnt somehow manage to mention your accord with 275,000 miles on it in this thread...

But seriously, if you autocross so damn much, and driven so many different cars, then you know what you typed in this thread is crap. Silly crap at that.

Hell, I'm shocked I was finally able to get under your skin.

And btw, I have never denied being a douche bag, albeit a giant one
