My main issue has been the slave and master cylinders. They were replaced a month ago, and today the car is back at the shop for the same issue.
I have also done carbon cleaning due to build up (was giving me missfires in 4 cylinders lol)
All and all is a great car, just expensive to maintain. I have done all the mechanical work on all my previous cars, but when it came to the Audi I have taken it to the Audi dealership to get worked on to get that 12 month warranty on their repairs - so you pay a lot for labor but if it breaks down again you wont have to pay twice.
Just want something with lower miles and get that Japanese reliability back

It's an age old debate that goes on in Car Talk fairly regularly. So no need to go over it again... but sad to hear of marinse's issues with the S5 as most of what I have read/heard before has been very positive.

Sorry to hear about the S5, marinse. Looks like VAG still hasn't figured out the carbon buildup issue... they would do well to emulate Toyota's D4-S.

Not the news I wanted to hear about the S5 as I was thinking of going to look at one and trade the F in on it. However, I love the reliability I had had. I drive to much not to have it.

Well, it was a friend's lease that I would have been picking up but couldn't wrap my head around the lease payments. Shoot, I guess I'm in a good thread to have pretended it was mine. He paid extra to get it in sprint blue. The car got a lot of attention everywhere I went with it.
Gorgeous, but no way, my first experience with German can't be with something I can't afford to maintain in addition to the payment.
marinse, great car, great mods to it and as a fellow self photographer (selfies?!!?) I applaud your skill. I'm still very green.

I have put 79k miles on my IS-F in the past 3 years. Water pump replaced under warranty and is a known issue with the 2GIS. Subwoofer replaced under warranty. Only repair I paid for was to replace one dead HID bulb. Other than that nothing but tires and brake pads in that time.
I assume that would most likely not be the case with the S5? I really want to own a German car but I drove so much I need something super reliable.

I've considered it...but, I don't have the heart, really.
In all seriousness, while the OP did lie...getting caught and the humiliation of this thread alone is enough punishment. He's also more or less taken it and not try to ante up on the full-retard.
I won't feed him to the Rambling wolves.
