As much as I hate to admit it, yes.
Financially, it was the right move .. the Fit is a tremendous daily and it's much more comfortable.
When it comes down to fun / weekend driving, the S4 project has taken a lot longer than expected .. but the moment I'm pulling 25 psi on E85 I'm sure I'll the S2000 will be a distant memory.
Maybe, just maybe I'll snag another S2000 ..
I don't believe the 1G Fit came with Bluetooth or really any factory options. Upgrading the headunit easily bypasses that issue, but overall the car has been fantastic. I just rolled over 200k and the only thing it really needs right now is a valve adjustment / alternator .. otherwise, car is a tank.

S4 running optimally > Fit running optimally
One of these days I’ll have to take my moms S2000 for the day and get my fix. It has been awhile since Ive driven it!

I ordered an entire valve cover gasket kit...for some reason the ones that came with the last kit are leaking at the bolts...
unless they weren't included in the kit I bought, maybe? I can't figure that one out...what a waste though, I only need the bolt washer gaskets.

I recently picked up a silver 01 S4 with 200k miles. Great car! I don't think I can do what you've been doing but it sure is fun to watch.
To be honest, I can barely keep up with regular maintenance items (currently waiting for some rear shock mount housings). Also one of the turbos looked a lilttle.. suspicious. I have my fingers crossed that it's not leaking oil

Shock towers are a hot commodity on the B5 classifieds .. once the paint goes the salts just destroy them. If you need a set, my buddy is selling them for $150 shipped.
The "guts" of the 2.7T are solid AF .. not uncommon to see 300,000+ mile S4s rolling around on the original block .. abiet, it's probably the only thing original on the entire car

Can't put a price on that, that's forsure.
Though does loving my hand count? Because it loves me back all the time
But seriously... we should be talking about badass turbos and oil leaks in here

Tyler, I hate to ask, but do you know how much $$$$ you've dumped into the S4 by now? Curious to know what the tally is at

Maintenance (preparing for Stage 3): $2500 - I would say half of it was preventative / things that were bugging me. (Timing belt, new struts / springs, gaskets, fluids, control arms, air filter, cabin filter, new o2 sensors etc)
Upgrades: $6000 - Turbos, K04 inlets, Intercoolers, fueling, ignition, clutch, exhaust, intake, wheels, headliner re-done, boost gauge & wideband, upgraded 3 BAR MAP sensor, new N75 valve, etc
+ Cost of tools & Supplies - I will admit ... I lost track of how much I've spent on tools and getting my garage ready for this project. I don't think this cost fully applies to the build since I will use them for years to come & will help out for future repairs on the vehicles we own currently.
Very expensive ordeal ... hence why dumping the S2000 made sense.
In my mind, a comfortable daily & a weekend warrior was what I wanted in the end.

Honestly that's not bad. To supercharge the TL would be more than that... And it would still be slow as balls in comparison. I was speaking to Gus (04wpdsedan) about SCing and he suggested having at least 10k to do it right... To gain 50hp.

I think the B5 platform is great IF you are willing to put in the time to do it yourself / putting up the amount of money to do it right ... they are cumbersome at times and require a lot of hours but in the end, a 400whp car for ~$20,000 that you built yourself isn't really that bad.
Where the B5 platform gets you is when BIG things start failing .. Oh, threw a rod? Might as well build the motor ... and the trans .... and get new turbos ... and new clutch ... and ....
It's a vicious cycle. A good exit strategy for me would be keeping a modest tune and keeping the block / rods in one piece

People have different tastes.
I've driven a few turbocharged cars in the 350whp+ range and sat shotgun in a 997 Turbo at WOT - I think Jeremy hit it right on the head when he said something along the lines of:
While it may not be the most responsive, it's neat feeling because of the anticipation / hesitation for when the turbo finally hits. The sounds & power delivery is totally different from N/A , but there's something extremely satisfying about the sudden surge of torque lol.
I may get shit for this also, but I've never driven a fast AF N/A V8. I'm almost scared of how much I would actually like it ...

I can appreciate their simplicity after having a B5 for 2 years.
