& to CL & KC - it's not necessarily the fact that it could beat the Gallardo, but also the degree to which it appeared to have outrun it. Looks like it really took off after a few seconds of pulling.

a gallardo is a low 12, high 11 second car. there are MANY MANY cars out there that would walk that thing like that.

I guess i've just been around fast cars so it doesn't really make me go

yeah, coupled with the fact that although it's relatively (given the time & $$) easy to make a $1,500 Del Sol go fast, most Del Sol owners don't exactly have the...capital. Many of us have been around many very fast cars, but it's still a sight to see what normally is a POS not only actually running, but running quite well.

good thing it was from a roll... honda's with power like that dont stick to well from a complete stop drag race. My cousin used to have a B18B LS swap with a rev hard kit in a del sol boosting about 8-10 pounds UNTUNED and the car was extremely violent, just wouldnt stick when you wanted it to.

Hope you brought your flame suit champ

Nobody is denying this is a fast car but as stated before if you sit these two next to each other and go from a stop it probably wouldn't even be close in the 1/4. I'm sure its a swap with a monster turbo ...too much lag from a stand still to compete (assuming he could keep traction).

Which one would you want in your garage at the end of the day? a Turbo Delsol or a Lamborghini Gallardo?! I do reckon that delsol being pretty quick but gallardo aint all about speed...its about motor sound, looks, prestige etc...

^ I'd want both.

the del sol probably has the same power as the gallardo, but minus 1000lbs.

The Lambo...of course

Then I'd sell it for something else.

anyone can make a car really really fast in a straight line, lets see who would win on the track or how safe the del sol driver would feel at speed...
