Yep.
My first house had a janky hole cut in the garage ceiling with a piece of plywood hinged to it and a little slide latch to keep it shut. I had to use my 6-ft ladder to climb up and sort of jump/heave myself into the rafters. But I stored damn near a whole 1986 Corolla GTS interior up there. My house now stupidly has the water heater and HVAC up in the attic, accessed through a real attic door with a fold out ladder. It's much nicer and would have been great in the first house.
If you were to install some sort of ladder that folds out of that ceiling door, then you could get up there and mount some plywood on the floors and such and then squirrel away all the stuff up there instead of in the garage. Of course, 10 months out of the year, it'll be like 250-degrees up there, so you could also bake cookies.

My parent's house in Prescott (now sold) had the HVAC up there & they had a very nice hinged fold-up ladder. I have a 12-foot ladder I can use to get up there. The fingerprints on the cover (I never noticed until I took that picture) indicates the previous owners were up there. Who knows what's there? could be Al Capone's vault for all I know.

My AZ house has an attic access in the master bedroom closet. I realized, after I moved out, that I never went up there. It still bothers me that I have no clue what sort of pirate booty could be there.
Maybe I'll go back and check it out some time

Our attic access (where the heater is) is in a secondary full bathroom. It's similar to the hole in the ceiling in the garage.
I have been up there looking into installing 4 Atmos speakers. Nothing but insulation and the heater up there.
I need to hire someone to install those speakers, they are nice Polks that have been n the garage for 2 + years.

Yes, FJ got it...
in my last house...I had the weird issue of being an 11 foot ceiling which required a drop down ladder that was wider than my trusses were.
I had to make a little stool to rest the drop down ladder on when I'd drop it.
It's a little work but it's not hard to do...fold down ladder makes it so you'll USE the space above the garage...store all the shit you rarely need,
holiday decs etc...
FJ, I feel you, my first place was ladder jump up too and I had a second TL up there in spare parts including the entire exhaust

When I lived in that house, I had a pair of emperor scorpions (non-native to the area) in a tank. One day, one of them ate the other one. Some time later, the (now) fat one, had a huge mess of little baby scorpions now clinging to her. Over time, all of the babies disappeared. I was up in the garage attic some time later and found a few desiccated baby emperor scorpions up there.
That's stuck with me. I wonder where else they got to?

Crazy the price jump from anything > 65"
I could probably do a 75 or 85 in our living room, but couldn't justify the cost.

More is always the answer...
I have a 60 plasma in our long ass living room...
it still works great so I'm not replacing but all the kids complain about
not being able to see it from the dining table.
I'm like try my childhood where the "big" TV was a 27"...I think we eventually
upgraded to a 32.

No thoughts on the Sequoia?
It appears to still be available, I'm mulling on bringing it up to the wife still.

Don't you have a Land Cruiser? Why do you want the Sequoia?
Also I've learned my lesson on buying expensive TVs. I have a, at the time, $2200 Sony 65" 9 series TV in my basement and a $375 55" TCL Roku TV in my bedroom, both are 4K bought a few months apart and I literally cannot tell the difference in picture quality and most definitely cannot tell where Sony spent the other $1825 of the purchase price on. Never again unless going OLED and even then, buy the cheapest one in the range.

Agreed but I can't get it back without a slew of family bullshit because they will see it as retaliation for his dickish behavior. Also, I am certain it has at best not been properly treated and at worse trashed.
Easier to replace for now.
For 5k that thing seems like a deal. (I know he's asking 5700, I'd go no higher than 5)
Also, on the cheaper TV front, I love Sonys and am fie paying the premium.

IMO: If the LC is a no go, I'd be more apt to find a clean 4G T4R over a Sequoia.
#1025
I actually started 4runner. Prices are insane.

Thing is a golf ball, (shockingly we get a lot of hail) they have the nerve to claim it has some "dings"
WTF???

I will exact my revenge eventually but for now Mom is just settling in and things have calmed down. I'm just not ready to enter this war. I will eventually get the watch and my LC back (or their value) but today, I'll just wait.
I don't need a truck but I do want one, the LC WAS finished (years ago) so getting it back won't fix my project jones.
Also, wtf?
She has a bed behind her, two in the crates that are less than 10 feet away but instead....

^ My dog does the same thing lol. Maybe she was hot and wanted to lay on the cool tiles?
In any case, you can do better than a Sequoia if you want a project car. Get a T4R or a Taco or a Jeep or a XTerra and mod the piss out of it.

I don't know anything about XTerras but I'd imagine you could put some cash into that and off road the hell out of it. You're close to a lot of really cool trails that I'd love to do someday.

The gallon on motor oil in the back would make me nervous.
I know some people like them, but a 20 year old XTerra with 250k miles? I'd roll it off a cliff and collect the insurance money.

The worth of the plastic vines adorning the interior far exceed the total value of the rest of the car (minus the gallon of oil in the back).

I love that Subaru phoned it in with the B9... Like, there had to have been a meeting where a bunch of people sat around a table, looking at digital renders, trying to come up with a name.
Marketing Drone: "I don't know, the whole thing is remarkably unremarkable... it's just so... benign."
Boss, startled from dozing off: "B9, sure... We'll call it the B9. Okay, now to the titty bar..."
