OP's company pays his gas bill. So it doesn't matter in this case.

5.2L V10? I didn't know they made those engines so big...

Do you actually feel the power, or does the weight of the car negate that power?

Oh, you definitely feel the power. Much more refined driving in traffic than the M5, but when you get on it, there's PLENTY of power. It actually has more torque than the M5 as well.

Here's a good comparison: MotorTrend Llink

I guess it depends on what you looking for. Are you looking for a 4 door sports sedan or a sporty powerful highway cruiser.

Using the IS-F for comparison only cause I know the information and don't have to look it up

Audi S6 --- Weight = 4486lbs; HP= 435; TQ= 398; 0-60 = 5.1sec
BMW M5 --- Weight = 4012lbs; HP= 500; TQ= 383; 0-60 = 4.8sec
Lexus IS-F --- Weight = 3780lbs; HP= 416; TQ=371; 0-60 = 4.5sec

Three completely different cars for sure so it comes down to what are you truly looking for at this point if you have even figured that out yet.

Ugh, grey leather. Otherwise I love it. They have a lot of presence on the road when they're washed and waxed to the 9s.

Gee, uh, you noticed I'm having decision issues, eh? And here I thought I was doing such a good job hiding it (kidding, of course).

You know, it's not really grey. The carpet and trim are all black and CF. The seats are labeled as "silver", but it's really an off-white (for lack of a better term).

I don't know something about a car that weights basically 4500lbs just kills me. Especially when it has the worst HP/weight ratio of anything you have considered.

In my opinion the exterior of the S6 is just plain bland. The M3, M5, M6, and IS-F all look better in my opinion.

I wouldnt say bland, more like not too sporty compared to the others you mentioned but it does look luxurius, kind of like a car you get driven in.

We know you love your IS-F. We get it. But you're becoming the SSFTSX of the IS-F.

[sigh] Unfortunately, yes, I do have an update. I spend a good part of Tuesday negotiating via e-mail over the S6 to get the numbers ironed out, secured approval on financing through my bank at 2.84% for 60 mo's, and then things fell apart: 1) they were about $1,000 under where I wanted to be on my trade; 2) I went over and did a better inspection of the car, found some paint damage on a bumper and they resisted picking up the tab for repair; and 3) I underestimated the amount of stress it would create to re-introduce a car payment into the family budget - currently, both cars are paid for, and there's been some developing uncertainty on the degree to which I will need to be providing additional financial support to a relative. This makes my wife very nervous and not very open to making a purchase right now...at least not until we have some more clarity on the relative situation; clarity which should be coming sooner rather than later. I decided I agree with her and walked away from the car.

That being said, I'm not giving up completely, just moving a little slower. Trying to better nail down all the features I want and keeping my eyes out for the best possible deal. So, if you guys run across something, feel free to let me know. I'll keep looking some.

Looking at this car - AutoTrader Link

but, I can only partially tell the condition from its pictures. Do you know anything about these guys? Any chance you might be in the area to do a little reconnaissance (I don't want you to make a special trip)?

Awesome car with a good pricing..

Hmm.. I don't really go out to that area, but I can maybe possibly make a special trip for you.. It's only 40 minutes away from me.

If you would purchase it, are you going to fly out and pick it up yourself? Just curious.

PM me, if you want me to help you out in any sort of way. I'm down to help out a fellow AZiner.

And I personally think E AMG is no match for M5. M5 FTMFW.
