Isn't that crazy... I am very temp to get one for myself as well.

I found bunch Is-Fs that are going for $39k-43k with 29k~40k miles on them.

If you can't make up your mind now, or if they're out of your price range, it won't hurt to wait a couple of years, right? Doesn't seem like there's anything wrong with the TL, or that you need a new car. It'll give you time to save up some more cash, warm the wife and family to the idea, and also for your prospective cars to come down in price. Maybe then you can pick up a 6MT M5 or RS4, or whatever.

Agreed. That's probably where all this indecision is headed.

I may be partial to Audis (I own an S4), but if you're looking at M5s, why not take a peek at an S6?
AWD + V10 = success (especially if you don't have to pay for maintenance)

Ooohh. Hadn't thought of that one. Now you've given me a whole new car to add to this obsession.

I think my wife might have hoped that would be the case at one time. I'm pretty sure she's resigned herself to the fact that there is no end.

That looks awesome!
I know if I were going to pick up a performance sedan for around $35,000-$45,000k, it would be an S6. Don't get me wrong - M5s are fantastic too, but an S6 has got to be one of the most understated rockets on the road. Lambo-sourced V10 power!

It's only a couple of miles from my office. Might need to make a brief run out this afternoon to see what kind of condition it's in.

I didn't get over there yesterday. We'll see if I can pull it off today.

BTW, I'm starting wonder if we shouldn't rename this thread - "Watch Mr. Tribe Struggle Through a Premature Mid-Life Crisis".

They don't hold there value well and it is 5 years old as well. I found a stock 08 in white in Florida with about same mileage for $41k So it seems you should be able to get the modified one cheaper.

Interesting. Do you think they aren't holding their value so well because of the introduction of the CLS63-AMG?

Hey quick question, if the S6 has the lambo sourced engine does that mean that it sounds just like a lambo?

I believe it's majorly de-tuned and it has totally different exhaust system, so it should sound pretty toned down. I'm just speculating.

Not based on what I read about it. But, you should read this comparison, it's definitely worth the time - http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...son/index.html

APR chip, intake, exhaust - you'll be almost at Gallardo horsepower.

Did you notice it on the gauge cluster it said average mpg was 13.4, that'll be tough to swallow coming from your TL, I know I was getting 24mpg or so with mine.

That is better than E60 M5 by at least 2mpg. I have averaged a cool 11.3 mpg for over 20k miles on the M5.

Given that the APR performance is great. 13.4 is great number.

Yeah, I know. If I step into the high performance area on these cars, I know I'm giving up mileage.
