Holy crap that is one heck of a jump. I imagine they must have found damage to the motorized roof system then for it to jump that much. Now is your time to be a real mod though and get an RLX with some super sticky tires.
In all seriousness though man I am really sorry to hear that. I hope they don't total it.

That blows.. might as well take a hammer to the rear quarter panels.. make it official.

Maybe it is not a bad idea to get something similar for cheaper and keep the difference.

KBB says Third-Party Sale value for my year, model, features, mileage and condition is $11,376. 75% of that would be $8,532. Obviously, $10k is above that 75% threshold for declaring a car a total loss.

I know you really enjoyed it...so, what are you planning to do?
Would it be possible to get another 335 for the same year if you get a payout?

I would wager of the touring cars we've listed, the CTS-V probably ages the most gracefully. The others all will have heftier health bills...

I mean, given the recent developments a la Saintorella, I suppose this would be a great opportunity for ttribe to justify his modship and BUY AN ACURA/HONDA.

C63 of the 6.2L variety is also pretty good past 2012. The big update 2012+ is the head bolts.
Before that year, head studs have sheared off and bricked the engine.. to the tune of +35k.
Even if it's repairable, the specialized hone machine for the engine is $$ and needs a specialized shop which is nuts.
ARP makes a hardware kit, but not sure how available it is.. nothing crazy in price.. like 1-2k.. definitely buy the kit if before 2012 model.
Shop time to replace is minor too.

Awe man that sucks, T. I'm surprised by the looks of the photos, but again if it's a body panel adding to the structure it makes sense. I'm sure there's another 335 in your area you could replace it with. They're more common that Civics in the SDL area.

If it makes sense financially for you, I vote for a 2G CTS-V sedan.

Do what you need to do mang..
Ask yourself.. does that beam really need to be welded out / in?
Just leave it alone, have insurance cut a check for the rest..

Just take the loss and get an ILX with upgraded tires of course.
Or finally the IS350

Honest opinion, your car might be one of the exceptions, but if you were to going to buy a N54 335 with similar miles and year, the car might not treat you the same way as your current one.

Want to buy a 1962 Imperial LeBaron? I guarantee the next person to rear end you would be walking away with WAY more damage...

Sorry to hear about the extra damage.. Sounds like the same thing that happened with my Speed3.. They had to cut out and weld in a piece behind the fender.. I think it was called the apron. At that point, I just traded it in.

Going from E9X to an F3X is a big adjustment already since they feel so different. Going to an F10 5 series might be too difficult to adjust for someone who is so used to the traditional BMW feel (E60/E92).
But definitely a good choice!
