Trying something a bit different - 2016 Charger Scat Pack
I've been waiting to start one of these threads!!!
For the past 5 years I've been daily driving my E46 M3 that I absolutely love. It is time to stop daily driving the M3, put it in the garage, and slowly make it perfect again.
I struggled for the past year deciding what to go with, but ended up ordering a 2016 Dodge Charger Scat Pack at the end of April. Dealership said about 10-12 weeks for build, but it was delivered to them right at the 4 week mark.
Next week, I fly up to Chicago to pick it up on 6/1 and drive it back to GA. My friend who is the salesman I'm working with, has sent me a few teaser pics. It currently sitting in the showroom waiting for me.

Beautiful cars. The new charger front end design looks so mean.

They did a great job with the Scat Pack, looks evil in black.

So many options with so much power... these days, it's awesome being a car enthusiast.
Unless you just bought an Acura. Then I feel sorry for you.

Thanks everyone! I can't wait to take delivery.
Not too many mods planned, but who knows. I plan on tint, better tires once the stocks are burned off, and possibly some debadging.
First on the list of things to do is a full polish and photo session.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the new ride, I love my Charger - lots of talk of the hemi/V8 going the wayside around 2019. If they don't screw up the design language by 2018 I'll probably upgrade to a SRT. I like the scat pack but they can get squirrelly with the smaller tires.

Congratulation, beautiful car.
The Charger currently is the best sport sedan for the money hands now, I will never get tired of saying it...they did a really excellent job with the MY 2015 redesign...quality improved across the board, the car is very mature and refined but still retaining its mean streak.
You are not the first Bimmer driver that switched to a Charger in the last 2 years...
As 012TL-GLM, I'm definitely considering a SRT 392 (or a Hellcat if they find a way to install the technology package in the future) in 1 or 2 years, hopefully FCA will not screw up things.

My biggest complaint with the Charger is it feels like a big boat. Just rolls it's weight around and you can feel all that 4,440lbs. I was actually looking into them until I drove one for a little over a week. Said no thank you. Seeing you are coming from an M3 it'll be a night and day difference in every way. That M3 has a firm suspension setup while even the Scat Pack Charger still has a pretty soft setup. Biggest issue people have with these is being able to control all that weight. Nonetheless nice ride!

Hmm...so a Charger doesn't handle as well as an E46? Noted.

My Father has a 2015 R/T Road and Track and it really handles well for it's size. If I need something for handling, I'll take out the M3.

^ Exactly. It handles great for what it is. Anyone that thinks it'll handle like a sports car is obviously setting themselves up for disappointment. For a full size 4400 lb car it handles extremely well, but it is not a nimble sports car by any stretch of the imagination. With that said, with a few suspension mods it can become a good handler, but still no M3.

4400 pounds?! Did they fill parts of the car with lead?
Shit, I thought the mustang GT was heavy, at 3800 pounds... Blows my mind how heavy some of the Chrysler products are. Surely it is hurting fuel economy too.
Seems like they could have cut out some weight from the Challenger too. I know the original was a tank, but you'd think they could have cut weight down in certain places. Just crazy, is all.
Still sexy as fuck.

Do you know how big the Charger is?? It is a full size sedan and the Scat Pack has a massive 6.4 liter V8.....the weight is not excessive considering its size (and it feels and handle like a significantly smaller and lighter car)
If you want to cut weight significantly, you have to reduce the size.

Congrats! Go enjoy that (fast) drive home. Once again, American Muscle gets the job done, son! having enough room for the family is a big plus.

Picked it up and will post pics later. Pics do not show how aggressive this thing is. It's a beast!

Where in TN is your office? How do you feel about letting total strangers test drive your new Scat Pack?

I used to absolutely despise the Charger when it was reintroduced.. couldn't stand the headlights or the tail lights, and the body.. well.. it just seemed plain.
but now?
