That interior has curves that would put a super model to shame.

If you want one, buy a three year old Honda Civic. In two more years, when gas is over $4 a gallon, you can trade somebody even up.

Wrong, there have already been track times talked about on the Jeep forum. It is running high 13's, consistantly.

Im making a list of them to look at now. This is on the list.

SS

The SS with a simple chip/tune (company called Vector is doing it) is running mid 13s. The chip/tune thingy is only $400.

Plus, its not really a comparison unless its the SRT-8.

SRT-8 gets worse gas mileage and costs 40k, rite?

Or can it be had for around 35k?

Jeep has a nicer interior... the trailblazer is

But love the looks and engine on the SS

Both get horrible mileage, but the SRT is listed as getting worse (12/15).

The SRT-8 starts at 40k for the base model. The SS starts at 35k. Fully loaded, equipped pretty much the same, the SRT-8 is still the same 5k more.

Yes the interior isn't the greatest in the SS.

The couple things I like about the SS is you can get it in 2wd (smokey burn-outs and donuts ) and it can actually tow.

edit: Just found a guy who ran a 12.6@106.5 with a tune, K&N filter and 3600 RPM stall converter. And it was a 2WD.

Meh towing aint an issue and i think he would rather have AWD.

Snow tires would be pricey to put on those 20s

The SRT8 base $ is going up $400 to $40,400 (about). With Nav and the SRT package group you're at $45k.

Most people seem to be paying between MSRP and $1k-$1,500 off. Few stories here an there of guys getting $2k off.

I'm getting an 07, I better be able to get some sort of fucking discount.

The Trailblazer is just simply old and needs to be redesigned. When the new one comes out, the interior will be vastly improved (see 07 Tahoe).

Interior wise for the SRT8, its getting even better for 07....soft touch upper dash with leather covered instrument hood.

When does the 07 SRT-8 hit the dealers?

Maybe the 06 can be had for 2k off then?

Either way i think the SRT-8 might be out of his price range. Ill run it by him.

Edmunds says TMV $34,438 with some options for the SS. MRSP of that is $35,225

We test driving tommorrow so ill report back.

I think that's very possible, $2k off on an 06 if you shop at this point. There are definitely 06s around. Not sure about the distribution in your neck of the woods though, they didn't build a ton of them for 06.

Depending on the area, 07s should start hitting dealers as early as August.

There is definitely nothing wrong with the SS (except that it's been around), it's still a hot rig....and can be had for much less than MSRP.
