I dunno, I guess if you want a 6 speed, but its not hard AT ALL to make 415hp with the G8 GT and I'm sure insurance is cheaper.

No kidding, in the middle of a recession and JUST a couple months ago gas was $4+ a gallon, and everyone has forgotten that OPEC still has us by the nuts and eventually oil will go back up, and most likely it will go up FASTER and HIGHER than where it was at before.

OMG...

Gas prices break streak as oil jumps to over $49

Retail gasoline prices rose over the weekend for the first time in nearly three months and crude prices jumped Monday ahead of an OPEC meeting in Algeria, where oil producing countries are expected to announced huge production cuts.

After hitting a low of $1.6559 gal on Friday, gas prices rose over the weekend to break an 86-day streak begun in July after prices topped $4.11 per gallon, according to the Oil Price Information Service.

With average wholesale costs rising 20 cents per gallon or more since late November, "there's a sense that the Autumn low of $1.6559 gal may indeed represent the 2008 low water mark for street prices," OPIS analyst Tom Kloza said in a note.

How about you are perpetuating our need for foreign oil for one. There are a shit ton of other reasons, but just because you asked the question it tells me you would not understand.

Please, do us all a favor & don't post a thread 6-months/yr from now saying:

"Trying to sell my SRT8....the +5/gal gas is killing me."

Inflation is gonna be a b*tch!!!

Although improbable, if the OP is planning to hold it for > 5 years and its not his DD then no biggie for owning this limited production guzzler.

My only hangup with the SRT8 is its typically poor Chrysler interior. I'd rather save up over another year or two (or maybe three) and pickup a used ML63....which would easily show the GC SRT8 driver its taillights all day long.

Whoop de fucking doo. Its ONE SUV. It was made for a reason. At least we can somewhat assume he'd be putting it to use for what it was initially intended to - to haul ass. Like I always say.... if you want to save gas, buy a damn Prius instead of driving 10 miles and standing in line for 10 minutes to get gas that's 5 cents cheaper than anywhere else.

As far as I know if your ass isn't riding a bike or walking to work or wherever it is you're going, you have a carbon footprint. People who whine about gas prices and change their driving habits accordingly are one step away from hypermiling. I don't give a damn if gas is $1.70 or $4.70, or if there's a cop car in front and behind me, I'm not going to change a damn thing about my driving habits. And if you do.... YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.

well all will get shitty mileage. but at least the GM's tranny won't implode after 30k miles. i HAVE driven the TBSS and it's well...a truck. not my cup of tea but if i had to go big i'd go x5 4.8is personally. not as much gusto but also alot nicer and alot less pain in the pump.

Actually the TBSS has had tranny issues, do some research and you'll find out lots on it.

And I agree that gas prices shouldnt control every move you make. I mean hell I have a 450+hp Mustang that gets like 10mpg. But, its not a daily driver and by no means would I ever use it for more than an occasional cruise and race day.

Now I guess if I lived 5 miles from work I would probably drive a gas hog, but the OP wanted to trade in his TL-S for a car/truck that gets close to single digit city mpg. Any of the three cars posted have already taken a HUGE hit in depreciation, and when gas goes back up they will get hit again.

i do admit looking down and seeing the 11mpg on the instant display does make you cringe a little, but the grin you have from ear to ear is priceless. like i said if it gets bad i can always ride the moto or fix the CL.
