New garage, who dis?

Now I get to redo this garage too Luckily I have a 12x16 shed in the backyard so most of the garage clutter is in there. I need to get some storage cabinets in this garage so everything is concealed

So you going to paint this one grey too? I wish I would have done that before moving all my shit in. Way too late now.

How is the size of this one compared to the last one? Also damn a 12x16 shed is huge. That is awesome!

Yes sir, gray is the plan! Same as the last garage. I want to do the floor this time though.

When you want to bite the bullet, rent one of those storage pods that are delivered, and pack all of your shit in there. The pod can just stay in the driveway. Maybe a neighbor will let you borrow a garage spot for one of your cars?

This garage is 484 square feet, while the old one was 498, so not too much smaller. This one isn't as wide as the last, so our cars are closer than I would like

Tell her that the everything inside of the house is hers to decorate. She can buy whatever furniture she wants, paint the walls whatever, etc.......but the garage is yours. She can park her car there but that's it.

It's worked for me for almost 4 years

I've told my wife that ... and she doesn't listen .

Her exercise bike, an old shelf, her nephews bikes / toys have made it down there ... I'm ready to put it on the front porch at this point

It's been a hectic few months due to the move, but I managed to make a few small changes

No pictures, but I finally installed new speakers. The old ones were Alpine Type-S and were completely blown. The previous owner butchered the wiring too, so that was an all-day project. I'll add a sub eventually, but I'm thrilled that I can turn the volume more than half way and have no distortion

I also installed my Honda Access Premium Floormats (https://www.balladesports.com/produc...oem-floor-mats). I guess my age is showing when I'm excited about floormats. The original set were beat to hell and looked horrible. Here are some comparison photos:

Now if you were a good boy or girl, you clicked the floormat link above, and have now noticed that I've added a piece of metal to the driver's side floormat so my heel doesn't leave an indention. These floormats were stupid expensive and I didn't want them to wear the same way my OEM set did. This small addition is why it took me so long to install the set. It didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted, but close enough. Here's a final interior shot after I conditioned the seats and cleaned everything up:

The car is probably the dirtiest it's ever been, but I braved the cold to at least clean the wheels and tires:

131k miles and counting! I've driven it everyday this week so far thanks to sunny weather. I'll be knocking out transmission and differential fluids within the next month or so, but other than that, I don't have any other plans. Maybe I'll think of something, but I'm content with the car for now. Having a child has changed my priorities The car isn't going anywhere, but I'm not hell-bent on making tons of changes.

What a foxy bitch, wow...

I kept looking at the metal heel plate thinking, that would suck to slide around on!
Come to find out you added it!

You know what, sometimes just enjoying a car, particularly a Honda, in stock form can be most rewarding, it's very pure experience.

Nice S2K! Glad to see you actually driving the car and not just looking at it like a garage decoration.

That WDP TL in the introductory post was epic!

131k is just being broken in,

In the 4 years / 54,000 miles I drove mine (bought with 115k), all I did was fluids, a valve adjustment, brakes, and a couple of small tweaks and the car held up beautifully ... never hesitated driving it 100 miles to the track and beat on it all day.

I really miss it and admittedly, a knee jerk decision ultimately lead me selling it. .

Sorry to go off topic ..

Tyler, those floor mats look wonderful .. really dresses up the interior.

Looking good Tyler. Will that piece of metal get slipperly when your shoes are wet though? Don't want you to have any Accidental acceleration incidents.

wow I saw that pic (but didn't click the link) and thought, that's some awesome forward thinking because i'm sure we all have that issue with the heel indentation ruining the mat.

1. Doesn't that make it super slippery down there?
2. Did you design and install that your self? (if So, that's very ingenious of you! )
3. Is it just sheet aluminum or what material? Worries of it indenting ?

I still think he should just deal with the mat getting a hole 100K from now...
if that even happens to that upgraded material. They may offer a warranty against that happening.

I was going to reply to each comment, but most of them were regarding the same subject, so I'll address it with one post

Due to an incident mentioned earlier in this thread, I don't drive the car in the rain, so slippery shoes shouldn't be an issue. It's hard to tell by the photo, but the aluminum piece mounted to the mat is textured, which (in theory) will prevent any slipping.

As for the "design", my FIL owns a machine shop. I brought him the mat after I received it and told him what I was looking for. Based on the indention on the old mat, we measured where the plate would go and he cut the piece.

The rivets holding the plate on are very narrow in diameter, so it's completely reversible. The carpeting is thick so no holes would be visible if I decided to remove it. Technically, yes the rubber lining would have holes, but with not driving it in the rain, I'm not worried about moisture leaking through and being trapper underneath.

That makes sense, T...
okay, how about that adhesive backed black antislip stuff...it'll make it visually disappear and give you grip and you get to keep the protection.
I thought you just fucking riveted a flatted tuna can on that bitch...glad it was done professionally at least!

That tape is actually a great idea! I never considered that. I'm going to try this out for a while and see how it goes.

Damn never actually knew about your issue you had in the rain Tyler. That sucks sorry you had to deal with that. Seems kind of like a freak accident though. Would let it keep you from enjoying the great car you have.

This winter has been SUPER mild. It's actually raining right now lol.

Though the high on Saturday will be like 2F so we're due for a cold streak.

FWIW, we get the worst of everything. In late July/August it'll be 98F with 90% humidity.
