Maybe a Subaru.

Also, if you are getting enough snow, your car maybe to low for it. That's the only time that I really had any problems.

Slow down... I'm riding on all seasons with 3/32's of thread and I'm fine in the snow... It's a fucking fwd car dammit...

My first 20 years driving in snowy New England were in rwd cars (with shitty all seasons) and I was fine... Try driving a ford pinto station wagon on bald tires in the snow if you want to talk about fun (only got stuck once, but was able to get out after about 15-20 minutes of back and forth).

Lots of people have no problem driving RWD or FWD cars w/ all seasons, so there must be something wrong with YOU !!

Slap some snow tires on the TL and call it a day... or take some winter driving leasons

Snow tires would certainly be the best move, but a decent set of all seasons will cure the issue.

Sadly, last year I had a tough time getting moving in 8" of snow in my TSX. Those tires are just plain awful. Regardless of the OPs previous posts, I feel his pain.

Stuck in 5 inches of snow? You need some snow tires like others have suggested, and maybe some driving lessons/pointers.

I did great today in 4 inches of snow plus some sleet & freezing rain, on unplowed and unsalted roads. This is my 3rd year with my Dunlop Winter Sport M3 tires and they are awesome. You just have to slow down and use common sense when driving in the white & slippery stuff. No one taught me how to drive in it, I just learned from doing it.

As stated you do not need an AWD car, get one if you you want, but you don't NEED it. I thought my CL sucked in the snow way back when I got it, I had no idea about tires. Once I got rid of those suck ass Michelins and ran blizzaks in the snow, the car felt like a tank in the snow. You will drive through a lot more than 6 inches of snow with some snow shoes on the TL.

I was just telling my wife earlier this evening that our 2000 Nissan Quest is nearly as competent in several inches of snow as our 2005 Murano AWD. It does get a little squirrely here and there but nothing a semi-competent driver could not handle.

All in all, FWD works terrific in the snow provided the driver knows what he/she is doing and the right set of tires (snow or regular) are being used.

Get a better set of tires. 6 inches of snow should be nothing but a pain in the ass to the TL. If it took you an hour to get it out then either you are doing it wrong, or bad tires.

I'm using my stock Michelins with about 50% life left and they have been fine. Next year I plan on going with a HP dedicated winter tire. You don't need to get a new car to drive in the snow, you just need driving lessons and decent tires.

Well i made a new thread b/c i thought this got locked. Anyways the snow was literally packed under the car, i didn't even know thier was that much snow, i was going 10mph then all of sudden my car stops. I rocked the car, didn't work out to well, kept making the snow deeper. And when i left the car in drive the front wheel was spinning, buyit's self lol. Trust me snow tire's will not help in this situation. B/c my cuzin has blizzaks on his 08 Malibu, and he got stuck in the same spot lol. And then another car came down the street it was a A4 Quattro, and he got out fine, i got so pissed.

I've never gotten stuck in snow in a FWD car, even a beater civic with tires that haven't changed in who knows how long

RWD on the other hand is a bit more tricky

So both you and your cousin can't drive. Do yourself a favor, sell the car, buy a bus pass and you won't have to shovel shit again.
