Well I got the tires and... this little piece of garbage. 1986 Mazda RX-7, nothing much but it has an LT1, awesome.

Nice! Please post more pix... especially of the engine. I need to see it to believe it.

BTW, how much did you pick it up for?

Yeah it is pretty crazy. Ohh yeah, there is also a 75 shot of Nitrous hooked up, definitely not necessary but I wasn't going to turn it down.

Having a clean engine bay doesn't matter to me at all, this thing isn't the best looker. The engine and transmission are still in good shape for now, until I use my horrible driving skills to destroy them.

6-speed, and yes beating the living crap out of it is tons of fun, but not really safe for the road.

Yes, it doesn't look half bad for the amount of time that I took to repaint it. It turned out much better than I thought that it would. I just couldn't stand driving around a multicolored car.

Not a LT powered FC. I had a Turbo-II FC a few years ago, I blew the motor and the guy I sold the car to did a LS-1 swap. I would love to have that as a DD.

WillrunifChased-Nice ride..

you must not know much about any cars if you cant look under the hood and see that there is a V8 under there and not a burned up ROTARD.

The LT engine is an old school corvette engine. I think early to mid 90s.

So yeah, $4k isn't bad considering the shit loads of work that needed to be done to swap it in.

I really wanted a car with an LS1 not an LT1 but I was also trying to keep the cost under 5k. The LS1 944 will be one sweet car.

Price does seem a bit high to me, but then again, only you really know what condition the car is in.

If I were to do all of the work myself, the kit to put the engine in costs around $1400, a decent RX7 would cost between 800-1500, then you need to get the Turbo II rear end if it didn't come with it which would be unlikely for 800-1500 so that would be another 400-600 depending on the condition and availability in the area. Around 1800-2500 for a good LT1 with a T-56. So yeah if I scrapped together and did all of the work myself I might be able to do it for a little less.

I see it as a great bargain. A supercharger for a TL would be around 5k installed and this car was only 4750, it will run a mid 12 second quarter mile. Beating any TL that I have heard of, and still letting me keep the TL as my daily driver.

For a car like this I don't know how you guys are determining the price being too high. Are you looking up RX7's on KBB and adding the "corvette motor" option?

This car is practically a one of a kind piece. I'm sure there are other V8 powered Rx7's out there but it's not like this is a factory option and I'm not aware of anyone who makes a pre built kit to drop a V8 in.

I was looking at a 1971 Porsche 914 with a V8 stuffed in (and there is a company who makes a kit to do it), unfortunately the car sold to the 1st guy who showed up and went for $3000 so the seller definitely left money on the table.

To the OP, I think that car is F'ing badass. Don't paint it to look pretty, people get more upset when they get blown away by a car that doesn't look nice.

BTW you should ask the Mods to change your name to "willgetawayifchased"!

Thanks man. Granny's Speed Shop makes kits to put V8's in RX7s.

I haven't decided what color to paint the car yet. I am going to go with a satin clear on it no matter what and then I plan on painting my 3.2 TL the same color but with a glossy clear coat.

I guess if it's all about speed, then it was a good deal.
