TL got smashed at Macy's parking lot...anything I can do?

TL got smashed at Macy's parking lot...anything I can do?
Hi,
the back end of my 06 TL got side swiped and smashed up by someone while I was inside Macy's shopping. Of course, no note, no nothing...
i flagged down "parking security" but they basically told me that all i can do is report it to the police and to my insurance. (with a $1,000 deductible and two hit and runs on my record, i really dont think I want to do that).
has anyone had a similar experience from which they were able to recover damages from the company or from someone? seeing as how its private property and you usually "park at your own risk" it seems difficult...but maybe someone knows a way.
it would be most appreciated!

Same thing happened to me. I filed a police report, sent a copy to my insurance company, and they paid for my repairs using my uninsured motorist coverage. I had to pay my deductable. ($250)
