Test drove the RSX.... bahahah
uhmm...Talk about trying to hurry a car to production. I heard rattles right away. Stick is not smooth @ all. I test drove the type S. It didnt feel all that quick. Infact, it didnt feel quick @ all. Climbed gears very slowly. I know i was thinking about trading, and that it might be a better car for me...wow, that totally changed my mind. I went to push the button to adjust my seat..oghhhhh had to reach under the seat. Right then and there i allready decided i didnt want it. Talk about further down the line, this thing is way down the line. Im sorry for doggin on it, but its my opinion. You might have a different one. But, looks like im keeping the CL-S. until my mom finally decides i can get the M3. Have a nice day, and have fun tearin up the RSX's

We don't have all that much torque to speak of.

The car has both it's pros and cons. I really can' tstand the interior (ie. dash, etc.) I guess after having the Navigation and all that stuff looking so damn good on my dash. I really have a hard time looking at a dash without one. I'm a prick and a prude, but hey.....:-)
I do like the seats and the fact that they got a subwoofer in the back parcel window thingie. That's pretty fly. As to the performance, i've heard it's pretty entertaining and fun to drive, but the weight and luxery of our CL's is tough to change. I drove my buddies Civic home and the thing felt liek a feather in comparison.

It's all in what you're used to....
142 lb-ft vs 232 lb-ft
Cars like the Celica GTS and GS-R feel dog ass slow to me now even though they're not much slower than our car.
Now if I went and drove a Z06, I'm sure the CL-S would feel like a Civic. But this is the most torque I've ever had and it's a HUGE difference over any normally aspirated 4 banger.

I think they look exactly like the, I think, it's the MX-8 from Mazda. You know what I'm talking about the littel hatchback thing they had (I doubt it's still in production). Interesting looking.

first of all, the RSX isn't supposed to compete with the CL (or CLS) at all
I've heard that there is a recall on the ECU that accounts for the sluggish acceleration, but I haven't been able to confirm it.
I test drove a Type S today and thought it was a nice little car. Excellent handling and precise steering. Plus I think its great that it is offered with a 6 speed.
I did notice that in the brouchere that 91 octane is recommended. Maybe they had 87 in the one you drove and thats why it was slow.
I also thought the clutch and shifter feel was good, and the brakes are excellent.

jdtypes..............glad you weren't wild about it since I had some thoughts about trading UP/DOWN..... Guess it's really a glorified rebadged Civic. Not that that's bad, but I love the interior of the CL-S and the RSX looks a little cheap in comparison. Surprised to hear about the rattles though.
