I was surrounded by Mustang growing up and always imagined I'd own one. It never happened and honestly after the last gen I lost all interest in them, but I find myself drooling over the new gens, especially the GT350s, so I will live vicariously through you lol. Can't wait to see some photos once you get that beast!

Congrats on the purchase. I agree about the Merc's - Love the cars but lacking a pedal that is necessary.

Didn't think there was anyone around who has been on the forums and lurks as much as I do without posting.

Can't wait to see the pics.

I'm pretty excited about it, mine is scheduled to be built on Nov 9th.. so going by the timelines on current deliveries I should have it by the end of this month. I did add the Track Pack instead of going with a base. I'm anxious to see what aftermarket options come in a year or so.. by then it should be no problem finding one for or below MSRP if someone else is interested.

The base is right at $50k.. track pack adds $6500 or the tech pack is $7500. To find MSRP right now is the exception, typical is a $5k dealer markup. The R is a different story, it starts around $63k and a $5k markup is a great deal right now.

Like I said, wait a year and these will be on the lot. I think some are jumping in thinking it will be this monster, so when they find out it's a high revving relatively low tq sports car that focuses on balance instead of 1/4 mile times.. all markups will disappear.

It's still putting down 429lbft @ 4700rpm, from a 5.2L engine. I dunno how much more you would expect to get from a NA engine...

Thats why I said relatively. I've been active on Mustang forums and those guys have been disappointed and already looking for mods including forced induction. 429lbft is more than I need.. for some of them its trivial versus a GT500.

Stupid Mustang forum kids wanting to make this a drag car.

It's a track car. Gutting it out for the weight reduction would make the car so much more balanced and faster overall instead of adding a blower for more power.

You do NOT need more power for that car. Maybe you can dial in the suspension and aero down the road, but don't even touch the engine. It's perfect.

That's sad to hear. It disappoints me to think someone is buying this car just for 1/4 mile purposes. What a waste.

The power this car puts down, as you stated, is more than sufficient. I'd take one of these in stock form, over one of their SC'd v8s, putting down 650lbft of torque, and within one corner I bet they'd be eating dust.

Pisses me off when people always ramble on about needing more power BEFORE they even know how to drive properly. Nothing teaches a person how to corner better than an underpowered car. Learn on a 150hp car first- The smallest mistake ends up costing the driver big time, causing them to putter out of a corner, instead of fly.

And I'm not saying the 350 is underpowered by any means- but before those fools need boost, they should learn to handle the beast they're driving.

I kid you not I've seen a couple of people that have orders and are on the verge of cancelling because of motor trends's 12.4 1/4 mile time. (117.8mph trap)

Hope they do cancel the orders. I would hate for the dumb people to drive a car like this. Those are the ones who wrap it around the tree leaving their hard parker meets.

Wow. My face hurts from facepalming too hard.

I'd love an 8200rpm, screaming V8. Now THAT'S a rarity. I bet you that car will eventually climb in value if kept stock, or close to. It'll take 2 decades or so to get there, but it'll happen.

I like this car because it reminds me of s2000 except much heavier and faster.

So 60k is a realistic # for a GT350.... pretty much the same price as my car now.... shit

I dont need the R. 530hp is more than enough to kill me already.

You ninny.. R doesn't have more power.. it's a stripper version with a tighter tuned suspension and aero .. doesn't even have special badging from what I hear. All though the spoiler and carbon fiber wheels are sex.

What's with the butthurt about wanting more out of it? You guys don't get butthurt over 1800hp twin turbo gallardos. Just because it's charged doesn't mean it turns into a coal rolling redneckmobile that can't take a turn.

Oh Honda,
Had you only given us a quad cam V8 coupled to SH-AWD in 4 door and coupe.

You just couldn't just let Acura be what we all know it could.

Great choice by the way. That engine is going to bring you much joy.

You missed the whole point of my argument. Getting more out of it is fine, assuming one knows how to drive with that much power. Many of these dummies want more out of it, just to go in a straight line. Get a hellcat for that purpose.

These fools are taking a purpose built track car and turning it into a drag car. What a waste.

This.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting for more. It's just that these idiots who are "disappointed" with the 1/4mile time are not getting the point of this car.

Looks like an MSRP deal right here on the showroom floor. I'd consider cancelling my order and going for this one, but I think there's something to be said about loyalty toward someone that went out of their way for you.

Unless they pay you dividend, otherwise there is no such thing called loyalty when it comes to your hard earned $$.

But you could email that to your SA and ask him to match it. At least you are giving him the opportunity to keep your business. The difference is not pocket change... or at least to me.

My deal is MSRP (after calling 15 dealerships with markups) and $1000 less than that one because I went with the track pack.. only reason I would switch is to have it now instead of the end of the month.

Tech pack is cool with Nav, heated/cooled seats and such but I will wait.

You guys are forgetting the dick size variable in the equation.. most of these cars aren't going to be living on the track.
Nothing wrong with wanting it quick and quick around the twists, and who said anything about turning it into a drag car? There's a point where power is unusable, but adding power doesn't mean you're repurposing the car.
It's obviously not geared to be a straight line monster, but if you can squeeze more out of it early one, why not?
