Test Drove the G35 Coupe
After all this hype of the g35 i decided to go check it out my self to get my own opinion. I'm only 17 and usually dealers wont let you test a car unless your 21 so when i pulled up i made sure a salesman saw me in the cl-s and that i wasnt just bullshitin.
Messed around w/ the navi and all the other buttons inside before we took off. I like where the seat controls are located and the navi was cool too. But i thought the navi screen would be motorized but its like a push in/out type of thing.
Drove it for about 5 miles and the first thing i noticed is the squishy brake feel i hate that. It feels like the brake on a truck. I think if you get the brembos it would fix this problem though. I test drove a demo automatic w/ 1000 miles so it didnt have the brembos. What i was really waiting for was to take a nice corner in this thing, i finally got a chance to take a hard right and the car was just stuck to the ground. I wot'ed prolly about 3-5 times during the drive and the auto just doesnt have that great of a throttle response. The car was pretty quick but i doubt a auto g35 coupe can take an auto cl-s, it just didnt pull hard up top like my cl. So on the drive home i didnt feel that bad drivin my cl-s, the fit and finish of acura's interior is alot better. I didnt fell like i was sitting in a 35000 dollar car when i was in the infinity. If i was to get this car i would definantly learn how to drive a manual so i can get the brembos and actually feel 280 hp.
Pros:
-exterior styling
-handling
-rwd
cons:
-speedos and tach are very hard to read under sunlight
-squishy brake feel
-steering wheel too lose

Actually, I give Nissan credit for trying to make their cars different looking with a little bit more power. However, I keep hearing that the inside is shitty.

I had the same opinion when I test drove the G35c recently. It's a nice car, but not nice enough to get rid of the CL for. It's got the performance of the CL in the straight line, better handling but much worse interior

Man! The Lex/Benz/BMW/Infiniti dealers in the Bay Area don't pay ANY attention to me when I show up in a CL (I'm 19), perhaps people here in Cali are just rude. Hahaha

but the g35 drive just made me love my cl even more, before i was about to take it for a spin i was about to back out because if i fell for it i would regret not having it. its a bad habbit of mine i shouldnt drive better cars than the cl-s cause i'll want what i cant have.
