Test drove a CL-S 6 speed
I went and test drove a CL-S 6 speed today. It was a Nighthawk black pearl with parchment interior. I had test drove a CL-S auto about a year ago, so I thought I would drive the 6.
Interior: The seats are very supportive and comfy. I liked the perforated leather and Navi also. Pretty good room in the back seat. The titanium interior peices worked very well. I actually like it a lot better than the wood interior I saw on another CL. The wood looked very fake IMO and had a very plastic look to it. The shifter is well placed and the throws are great. One of the better gearboxs I have felt in a while.
Powertrain/Suspenion: The car performed very well. The engine pulled very smoothly to redline and it was easy to make it chirp into second. The transmission is great. Honda knows how to make a better feeling tranny than Nissan. I never had any traction problems during my test drive, the car just hooked up. It feels a little bit quicker than my modded Max, but that was with 2 passengers. Handling was pretty decent though it exhibited a lot of understeer. My Maxima handles a lot better, but that could be because its modded. I then pulled over and let my friend drive it and he was pretty impressed also. Overall its a great car, but leaves the driver wanting RWD, better balance, and more steering feel.
I tried to write as unbiased of an write up as I could The dealer I went to was top notch. It was built within the last year and was probably the nicest showroom I have stepped foot in. The had a CL-S on the showroom with rims and comptech lowering springs, which I thought was pretty cool.
