Although the show is alot better without Chris Evans, It still feels like they are trying to copy the old trio, which is kinda boring to me. Still watchable though. I do like how they brought back the old track and a better "reasonably priced car".

Liked episode 2. Chris Harris is excellent and Matt LeBlanc wasn't bad either. I can live with this iteration of Top Gear. In fact, I would argue there were less cringeworthy things in this Top Gear Episode than the later TGT shows (Worn out Celebrity Brain Crash, Christmas gifts)

The old trio at times, you could see the genuine disgust when one of them was tired of the shenanigans (mainly James lol).

I am enjoying this show and I love how this and TGT don't air at the same time so I can get my fix with one while the other is on hiatus.
Just watched episode 3. I enjoyed the first bit with the Merc and Aston. I agree with the crowd I would have the Aston. Anyhow beautiful shots, some cheeky banter between the two (Dr No Hair, Hillary Clinton jacket, etc). Golf GTI bit was impressive. Either it was staged or the drivers of some of those cars (Nissan GTR, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, etc) are terrible drivers lol. Enjoyed the last segment as well, I would have the MX-5 though instead of the Fiat.

Eddie Jordan is still annoying though. I would get rid of him too.

Harris was jealous he didn't get to drive the Ford GT. Heck I am jealous, driving that thing around Laguna Seca must have been an amazing experience.
They definitely need a rematch on the race, if you can even call it that. It was more of a who can survive challenge than a race lol

The hosts are definitely gelling a little better, but it was such a copout to do a V8 show with a McLaren AND Jaguar.

Cut the cord & haven't gotten a replacement outside of Netflix & free Amazon Prime video.
Will be getting either YouTubeTV or PSVue for ESPN F1 coverage, will have to see if BBCAmerica is included to catch up on TG since TGT is off for now.

You do know the Daily Mail is a tabloid paper, right? They're always running dumb stories about Clarkson. Can't trust everything you read or the Daily Mail for that matter.

For nearly two decades now, the Top Gear test track has been at an old military airfield in Surrey, South East England. But soon enough, the Hammerhead and Chicago turns will be a park, the Bacharach looks like it’ll become some kind of water feature, and a roadway looks to be planned in the Gambon’s place.
After years of rumors, the U.K. government has approved plans to bulldoze Top Gear’s famous test track. The development group for the area announced last week that the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Sajid Javid, gave it the approval to bulldoze the track to make room for homes, parks and businesses. The current airport runway will even become “Runway Park.”
Top Gear has used the airfield, Dunsfold Aerodrome, as its test track since about 2001. The track survived all of the host changes when Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May left Top Gear in the controversy of Clarkson punching a producer, and it’s survived years of rumors about its own demise—plans for a development of the area first came around in 2006, according to The Sun.
But losing the track is more than a nostalgic thing. Top Gear has used the airfield track for its time trials of cars and various laps for almost 20 years, and it makes for experimental control—a loose experimental control, since weather and track conditions change all the time—when testing abilities of different cars. Losing it would mean a total reset on lap times and handling observations from testing.
The development plans are on the Dunsfold Park development group’s website, and include 1,800 houses, a market square for businesses, a school, a nursing home, a community center, a health center, a church, park areas and a “moat.” Plans also include 30,000 square meters of extra business space for the area, which already has more than 100 businesses employing more than 900 people.
The website’s page for frequently asked questions already asks about Top Gear, but the development group ambiguously answered its own proposed question:
(The FAQ page was evidently done before the recent approval, which is why the question says “if you gained planning consent.” The group has gained it.)
The Secretary of State approval isn’t the first time the development group has gotten the go-ahead, but it’s the big one. A local council voted 10-8 in favor of the development plans in December 2016, and neither the council nor the BBC responded to Jalopnik’s requests for comment about the decision and how it would affect the show when the news came out.
Jalopnik has reached out to the Dunsfold Park development group and Top Gear representatives to ask whether there’s a set date for the development to begin, how much longer the show has to film there, and whether Top Gear has other tracks in mind to replace the current one.
Update 3:41 p.m. Top Gear declined to comment on the development. Jalopnik has not yet heard back from the development group.

Would filming for Top Gear have to re-locate if you gained planning consent?
Top Gear and other similar programmes use parts of the airfield runways during filming. Development will mean that aviation uses will cease and the existing runways will be removed and re-used during the construction process to ensure the minimal removal of materials from the site.

Matt LeBlanc leaving BBC's 'Top Gear' after next season | Fox News
Matt LeBlanc will leave "Top Gear" after the next series, the BBC announced today.
The news was announced via Twitter with Matt's replacement yet to be revealed.
Matt said he made the decision to leave to spend more time with his family and friends.
The 50-year-old star said that although the show is "great fun," the "time commitment and extensive travel... takes me away from my family and friends more than I'm comfortable with."
He added: "It's unfortunate, but for these reasons I will not be continuing my involvement with the show.
"I will forever be a 'Top Gear' fan and I wish the team continued success. Thanks for a great drive."
BBC Two controller Patrick Holland said: "I want to thank the fabulous Matt LeBlanc for being a brilliant co-host on Top Gear."
Matt is currently dating "Top Gear" producer Aurora Mulligan and he has one child by his ex-wife, Melissa McKnight.
At the moment, he fronts the BBC2 show alongside motoring journalists Rory Reid and Chris Harris.

The moment Chris Harris leaves ... nail in the coffin.
#5355
Was Matt not aware of the "time commitment and extensive travel" going in? Has he not seen the amount of time and work Clarkson, Hammond, May had to put into the show?
They had it working pretty well with LeBlanc, Harris, and Reid.
Maybe they'll bring back Chris Evans

Here's hoping they don't.
Though, the whole power lap board is out the window with the track being razed.
I think Harris could carry as the main host & add a supporting host. Sabine Schmitz could work.

Bear in mind that he also has a sitcom going over here in the U.S. That's a lot to ask.

Richard Hammond and his family have been robbed at a Saint-Tropez villa and fear the thieves gassed them.
While staying at the luxury villa with 15 other guests, Hammond and his family were enjoying a 1920s themed getaway, complete with vintage clothing, cocktails, and dancing. However, burglars raided the villa late last month.
Speaking with Express, Richard Hammond’s wife Mindy said the family only realized they’d been robbed the following day.
“We realised something was wrong when Willow couldn’t find her watch the next day, but we thought she’d just left it somewhere, or maybe one of the teenagers had been sleepwalking in the night.
“t wasn’t until myself and the other mums were taking the kids to the beach that Richard called and said, ‘Have you looked in your purses?’. We all looked in our purses and wallets and all the cash had gone. Nothing else had been stolen.”
Mindy says that the thieves went through each bedroom and opened and closed draws to find cash to steal. As no one woke up, she believes gas may have been used in the burglary.
“I’m pretty convinced we must have been gassed or something, because they were in all of the bedrooms – they went where they wanted, into each room, opening and closing the drawers, searching through handbags etc.
“You have got to have some kind of confidence to do that and to be quite satisfied that people aren’t going to wake up.”
This isn’t the first time a celebrity has claimed to have been gassed during a robbery on the French Riviera. In 2015, ex-Formula One driver Jenson Button and his former wife said they were gassed in a similar heist.
However, in 2014, after a spate of campervan incidents, the British Royal College of Anaesthetists said said this type of gassing was “a myth.”
“It is the view of the College that it would not be possible to render someone unconscious by blowing ether, chloroform or any of the currently used volatile anaesthetic agents, through the window … without their knowledge, even if they were sleeping at the time,” reports the ABC.

Paddy McGuinness and Andrew Flintoff to host BBC's Top Gear
Mon 22 Oct 2018 04.13 EDT
Paddy McGuinness and Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff will host Top Gear from next year, the BBC has confirmed.
The Take Me Out host and the former cricketer will take over from Matt LeBlanc, who earlier this year announced he was leaving the motoring show after four series.
McGuinness and Flintoff will join the motoring journalist and racing driver Chris Harris in the main presenting lineup. Rory Reid, the BBC Two show’s previous co-presenter, will now host Top Gear’s companion show, Extra Gear, along with Sabine Schmitz.
McGuinness said the Top Gear role was a “real honour and I’m thrilled the BBC have given me this opportunity”. He added: “To be hosting a show I’ve watched and loved from being a small boy is beyond exciting. Top Gear fans worldwide are a passionate bunch and I consider myself one of them. Now let’s start up this Great British machine and see what it can do!”
Flintoff said: “It’s not often you have the chance to do both of your dream jobs, but I’m now lucky enough to say I will have. I’ve always been passionate about cars and I’m so excited to be joining the Top Gear team.”
Harris, who has been a lead host on Top Gear since 2017, said of his new co-stars: “They’re both brilliant, natural entertainers – and their mischief mixed with the most exciting cars on the planet is sure to take the show to the next level. My dream job just got even better.”
Friends star LeBlanc joined Top Gear in 2016, but has chosen to leave because of the demands of the role, and how much it keeps him away from his family and friends. His final series as lead host will air in early 2019.
The American actor was a surprise addition to the presenting line-up along with Chris Evans two years ago, after the departure of previous hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. Evans quit after just one series.
McGuinness and Flintoff will start filming their first series with Harris in early 2019, and it will debut later in the year.
Patrick Holland, the controller of BBC Two, said: “This is a thrilling manoeuvre from the Top Gear team and I’m relishing what this trio will deliver. Both Paddy and Freddie love their cars but, more than that, they’ll bring a new energy and competitive spirit to Top Gear.”
