Awesome episode. Better than any season 1 episode, at least from what I can remember. It's got that old Top Gear feel to it. If I didn't see the introduction, I wouldn't have known it wasn't Top Gear. Well done guys. Well done.

Celebrity Face Off.... so much better than Celebrity Brain Crash. Nice track too.

@

Clarkson: "So James,... Honda's hybrid technology has served them very well in Formula 1 the last couple of years, hasn't it?"

May: "Has it? I wouldn't know. And I don't care. Formula 1 is irrelevant."

Clarkson: "And then there are actual details that are wrong with that car. Well, the gear box is dimwitted, the steering's odd, the sun visor's too flimsy, the sat nav's from a Civic, and the fuel gauge isn't straight."

And that view. Beautiful.

I think episode 1 was meant to be better, but the Hammond crash through a wrench into things.

That being said, I enjoyed it overall.

that wreck looked insane... if you look at the car you would think he would be dead and not just a broken leg... does anyone know how that even happened??? he already passed the finish, why wasn't he slowing down?

I'm not sure what happened. He looked like he was terrified the whole time. That car is past almost anything he had ever driven in terms of speed.

Just finished watching. I started last night too late and wound up falling asleep about halfway through. It was okay. I really liked the hill climb and the drag race. There were a few funny moments too. Jeremy and James eating breakfast was the funniest part IMO. This episode wasn't a "miss" but I'm sure there will be better episodes.

I'll have to use the , "but there's a tube up my ass" bit anytime I get a stupid question from the wife

I think Hammond was just so locked in racing he did not slow down once past the finish. That's what the video showed, IMO.

Skip the two part special, find out if you like any of the cars they review and watch those. Skip celebrity brain crash. Other than that meh

Good episode.

So is the new female track driver suppose to be some kind of Stig since Clarkson didn't tell us her name?

The celebrity segment, while better than before, is boring though.

I was a little surprised they didn't say her name. It's not like it's a big secret.

Jalopnik has the dumbest fucking people behind it. Continuing to own that title for Worst Car News Page ever.

Jalopnik: Why didn't you tell the new driver's name?
Amazon: We decided to downplay the role of the driver to just a driver because the public reaction to Skinner was negative.
Jalopnik: I don't believe that's the full reason. I think the reaction to Skinner's fake personality was so bad, they're trying to fix that by minimizing the role of the new driver.

An okay episode. Not as good as 1 or 2.

They didn't have anything to say after the segment about the Kia Stinger. And no lap around the track either. The heck.

watched all 3 Ep. last night. Much much better than season 1. For a while, I forgot it was GT because it reminded me so much of old TG.

They never said why Hammond kept on going after he crossed the finished line.....

I thought they were going to be more sympathetic about it.... they took a completely opposite approach

It's going to be a season-long gag me thinks

Well if you remember when Hammond had his big crash on TG, they did a 10 sec piece on what happened, then never talked about it again. No jokes, no references, nothing.

Watched E2 & 3 today. S2 is definitely more reminiscent of the TG:UK feel. E3 didn't grab as much as E1 & 2 have so far. Still good, and a vast improvement over S1.

Maybe because he almost died in that big crash... this time he only broke a leg ... still fucked up if you asked me but... that is how they roll.

I was actually surprised to see Hammond came back so fast.

Exactly. I was hoping they would bring the Stinger into the tent and talk about it, considering us USA folks can get a GT for around $40K.

As far as the new driver, I think she is great and should be talked about. The problem with Skinner was they basically told him to act like a foul mouthed southern that likes to drive big trucks and V8 only cars. Just a sad waste for a talented driver.

IIRC, didn't he just fracture a kneecap or something like that? Much different than landing a jet powered dragster upside down after a blowout.

Another good episode. They did a great job proving a point and I would expect a mix of scripted/unscripted material.

So so happy with this season.
