I would say episode 5 might have been the second best episode of the season behind the first episode. That doesn't say a lot cause some area pretty bad but hey it is a step in the right direction.

I think the problem they're having is legally they have to be different from Top Gear. So its causing them to force new segments

^ Maybe, but Ep 5 definitely had a TG feel to it. It's improving, they just need to drop the dead celebrity bit, IMO.

Agree. I honestly believe they will correct the show for season 2

The dead celebrity bit was funny for episode 1 and I could take it in 2. Now it just feels forced at this point though.

They are smart people, i am sure they could find some loop holes around the BBC celebrity thing.
Like if they can't invite celebrities, can the celebrities invite them to their home?

Thought I'd chime in. So I'm a hardcore fan of TG and TGT, was looking forward to the show, since the end of TG. I like a LOT of what they've done. That said, they need to work on a few things. Their trips, don't feel like a trip. I like when you see almost everything happening, which is why even when their old specials sucked, they were still very interesting, like Patagonia. The new show, feels like an American show reality and less like a BBC documentary and I'll admit I really like the latter. Jeremy has also clearly been depressed, distracted, and just not very interesting. May has seriously been pulling more than his own weight with his little side segments. I know Jeremy got divorced, now moved back to his old estate, blew up the house and is building a new one. So I think he can improve a lot after he gets settled.
To summarize, I think it will get much better, they need to really pin down what made those old shows so damn fun to watch.

It would take some time for them to come up with ideas that would work since they can't use what worked because of BBC.

Just watched episode 5 and I really liked it! Maybe it was the lack of the American in it.. Thry really need to get rid of the celebrity brain crash bit, it's getting a bit old..

I wasn't really paying attention when they talked about those. What purpose do they serve

I thought E6 was quite good. Very reminiscent of the "old days."

Apparently Richard Hammond has made a gay joke on the show and now the internet is mad. Haven't watched episode 6 yet so don't know if that is the episode that it is refering too. Didn't want to watch to find anything out from it.
