I spoke to him last week about your Lexus actually but since I saw your wifey shut you down I didnt mention it to you. He basically told me if you leave a deposit with them, they will go to an auction and get any car you want.

It's not "certified" but I have the remainder of the factory warranty to 50k then an extended warranty to 75k , and the Acura warranty on the tranny till 100K. I also put Gap Insurance on mine, but that was just a piece of mind for me.They also told me if the tranny dies I don't need to take it to an Acura dealer that they can fix it there, which is good for me since I don't have one that close.

I'm not sure, I'll have to pull the docs but it wasn't much. I just don't see the point of getting a P when you can get the S for the same price. Just thought I give you another option..Good luck ..

this just keeps on getting better, took the car to aamco to get a free diagnosis for the lagging. 1st thing he checks is the fluid, black. well i even know what color it should be. he proceeds to tell me it is the clutch pack, they are fried and worn. he said it would cost at the very least 2000
i called the stealership and bitchslapped them, i doubt it will go anywhere, but maybe by mentioning that the bbb and the attorney generals office may have to get involved.
i had problems from day one and they took their good old time fixing the problems.
it took me 5 times to get a spare tire, o2 sensor, auto down for drivers side window looked at, the sunglass case still isnt fixed and also teh strut mounts needed to be replaced
:argh:

Electrical problems are the worst, usually Nissan is notorius for that not Lexus. Don’t feel bad, I got a 2003TL-S in March of 04 and tran fell out in November of 05. Under warranty but when you pay 24K for something you expect it to be reliable esp. an Acura. We live and learn. I would have thought better of a Lexus but who the hell knows anymore. I will tell you Acura dealership on West Broad Street (VA) sucks ass.

well the dealer is gonna look at it on tuesday. they are gonna drop the pan to see what is lying in it and get a better feel for potential damage.
i wasnt sure if it would cost the 2-3000 aamco said it would cost to rebuild. if it was and the dealer was gonna pay for it, i wasnt sure if they may just buy back the car what i paid for it, it prob would be cheaper to do that
we'll see waht happens

Rich, make sure you check the tranny fluid now (maybe take a picture) and check it every couple of weeks... If it gets discolored it's a sign of bigger problems...
Just a flush will give you clean fluid, but that won't fix the problem with what was causing the fluid to fry in the first place...
Amoco might have been trying to get you to pop for a tranny rebuild that might not have been needed. The dealer may want to take the cheap way out and just say the fluid needs to be replaced... I have a feeling the truth lies somewhere in between

Just watching out for ya' buddy...
You might be ok, but keep an eye on it... If you do have a burnt clutch pack, you'll notice the fluid getting brown real quick...
