Tale of the Cursed Acura
Well, I sold my CL back in January.
Biggest reason I got rid of it was that I was sick of trying to keep the car looking nice.
Either the car was getting bumped in parking lots or had tires fly in to the windshield on the highway (for those that remember that thread.) Hell, I got rearended in a hit and run less then a month after first buying the car.
Anyway, I felt the car was cursed or just bad luck. I said fuck it and sold it, and bought a car that I love but I dont care what happens to it.
Now, the other day I was just thinking about my Acura. You know, you always tend to wonder if the car is OK.
Well, I get a call from BoA (that is where the buyer got their loan.) The title to the car has apparently been lost and they want me to sign papers to get them a duplicate....This is a whole other issue that I'm really annoyed about, but I wont get into that part here.
Suffice to say they need the title to prove ownership to the buyer for the buyer's insurance.
Why?
The car was totaled last week in an accident.
The Sarlacc = happy he got rid of the cursed mobile when he did.

A parking attendant sat in his car and stunk it up (BO). He couldn't get rid of it.

Well, interesting enough to nice lady who bought my car called me to apologize for this whole mess with the title, and to tell she told BoA NOT to call me...but of course they did anyway.
She says loved the car and was crossing through an intersection when someone ran a red light.
She said it was a really bad accident, and the car was destroyed...and she has to have her nose reconstructed because of the airbags
Anyway, I guess she loved the car so much she tried find another one...but couldnt and was able to find a 2003 CLS 6spd instead...I told her she was probably better off

That would be good.
I feel bad for her....both Bank of America (who she had the loan with) and the Cali DMV have fucked up royally on her part, and dont seem like they really know what they are doing.
I was just speaking to a manager from their dept about it (because they want me to sign DMV papers stating the title was lost.) She was nice the first time I spoke to her and admitted they didnt even about this 3rd party company...who I had contacted (what BoA should have been doing.)
Anyway, I spoke to a laywer who over stuff with me on the phone, and led me back to all the paperwork i signed in order for the buyer to get the loan, and me to get the check (another stupid stupid system by BoA.)
In that paper is a copy of a signed and notarized power of attorney saying I gave up responsiblity of the and whoever else at that 3rd party company has the power to sign over for a new title.
When I called to tell the manager this again she started getting snippy saying I didnt understand. I had enough at that point. She went from trying to tell me I was still legally liable for the car to saying the 3rd party didnt have the paperwork...which I sat there and said, how do you even know that if you not an hour ago you just admitted you didnt even know they were invovled with the buying of the car?
I said I can't believe your trying to get an attitude with me when I am sitting here trying to help you. I have done a lot of the leg work your employees should have known to do. And now you are trying to give me attitude about it?
I ended it with This is your problem. You and the other company and the DMV or whoever dropped the ball. I followed all the rules and did my part. I should not have even been contacted about this matter whatsoever. I'm done trying to help. There is a power of attorney. I am no longer responsible for the car. This is your problem you deal with it.
conclusion:
DO NOT TAKE CAR LOANS FROM BANK OF AMERICA.
I realize the departements arent even connected...but I am seriously sitting here wondering why I have THREE accounts with BoA right. And I'm serisously considering taking my business elsewhere.

Dang... good thing you got out while you were still ahead.
My brother's Eclipse was cursed, as well. All kinds of shit started happening, and magically once we got rid of the car, everything came back to normal.
I recently saw the car while I was in that town (I know the guy who owns it now) and it was fubar'ed. Apparently the bad luck still lingers around that car. *shiver*
