I'm still throwing around the idea of new wheels. Thoughts on these? Expensive as hell but I like the look the best out of all OEM options. They're the Challenger SRT8 Alcoa forged wheels with a PVD black chrome finish.

Not too hard to find, but with that finish it's quite a bit more than just finding a nice set of OEM silver Challenger wheels. The other option is doing just that and then having them powder coated by your boys over there in G'sville. I'm not sure if they do any kind of black chrome look, so I'd probably just go with gloss black or a charcoal color.

Yeah it's weird I feel the same way. Gloss black looks good to me too, but black chrome is by far the best looking. Its crazy how the color can change the look of them that much.

Just my opinion, but to spend that much money on a stock wheel...I'd almost prefer you find something aftermarket.

Although if OEM is what you're after, they're nice. If you sell yours and can upgrade for not too much money, then

i'd do aftermarket if the OEM option is super expensive... Also the MOPAR types seem pretty focused on all OEM stuff... Black Chrome looks nice but could use a little more offset.

They're actually right around what an entry level aftermarket wheel set would cost, so they're not expensive in that sense, just in my tightwad wallet sense lol. But for the money they're actually a much better wheel than what I could get aftermarket for the price. They're forged so they'd weight less than aftermarket at their price point. I couldn't touch an aftermarket forged wheel for anywhere near their price.

Yeah I agree most MOPAR guys like to stick with MOPAR stuff. I'm not that caught up on that aspect of it, more just on the fact they're forged factory wheels, so for the cost vs strength/weight of them, they're a better option than aftermarket. As far as offset goes, they're actually right where I'd want them to be. The Scat Pack wheels had a lower offset and I felt they stuck too far out, so these would be perfect for me. Definitely not going for the stance look obviously with the mild drop I have. I'd consider doing a staggered tire set up though. Most likely 245/45s in the front and 275/40s in the rear which would give the appearance of a wider rear wheel. Also I'd have to run a 3mm spacer on the front wheels so I'd throw a 5mm spacer on the rears which would push them further out to the fenders. They'd be pretty close to flush.

While some Mopar guys do like a stock or stock like appearance...they are far from a stock crowd.

Just attend an annual SpringFest (this Sat, actually) and you'll see 1000 charger, challengers, 300s, Magnums and TON of aftermarket modding.

Seriously though, I'm in love with these wheels. The PVD black chrome is the coolest thing. It flips from light to dark depending on the light. And I put them on the bathroom scale. They weight 3lbs less with brand new tires than the stock chrome clads with warn tires. Probably a 5lb per wheel/tire savings. Granted they're very similar in design, so some people might not even notice they're not the chrome clads, but that's ok with me, I like the stock look anyway.
