Ah yeah a 2007 Daytona. Sublime Green. I love those, too. There's one that runs around my town. He must garage it in the winter because I haven't seen it since last summer. It's a pretty eye popping color.
Yeah those are them. I'm not a fan of the plain aluminum color they come in, but powdercoated gloss black or black chrome they look awesome. And yeah they are light. They weight the same as the Scat Packs. 27lbs.

I had a local shop install the Mopar Stage 1 springs and Koni STR.T shocks today. It's supposed to be a 1.5" drop once it settles but I think it's already there, so it'll probably be closer to 2" when it does settle. I'm really happy with it. This is how it should look from the factory. I'm bringing it back on Thursday for an alignment and then it's time to test fit the wheels again to make my final decision about whether to keep them or sell them.

Driving impressions are exactly as hoped. Still a very comfortable ride but improved cornering and less nose dive when braking.

Stanced crowd would think it is a 4x4, but I Think it looks great

Thanks man. I went to Brian's Motorsports per your recommendation. Nice guys. I'm actually there right now getting an alignment as well they're checking out a thud-rattle I'm getting in the back going over bumps, which might actually just be the spare tire not being bolted back down completely.
Yeah it's far from aggressive ha ha. It's the mildest drop you can go with besides the SRT suspension swap. To me personally I'm not a fan of slammed muscle cars or muscle sedans. I just wanted to close the gap up not tuck tire or anything.

So really I should have bought a BRZ, slammed it on KWs with some 20" Vossens and then I'd be the cat's meow, eh? I'll consider this next time I go car shopping.
Well the alignment is done. The front right is just slightly out of spec, like as close as you can get, so I might be considering an adjustable camber kit for the front. I might just see how the tires wear first. I didn't notice any pull whatsoever though so it might be ok. They also found a loose bolt in one of the trailing arms which was the cause for the clunk going over bumps. Glad they found that!

How many miles do you have on her? Any issues?

She should roll over to 54,000 this week. The only issue I've had so far suspension wise is a creaking in the front when taking a turn which started about 2k miles ago. It started after I replaced the sway bar bushings which made me think it was either my sway bar end links, the upper spring isolators or upper control arms, which are all very common issues with Chargers. The weird thing is that noise went away almost completely after just having the springs and shocks put on, so now I'm wondering if it was the bolts weren't torqued right even though I followed the OEM specs. We'll see if it stays away or comes back and gets louder or not. These cars are very heavy so they put a lot of stress on the front end. There's tons of people that get mysterious clunks in the front end that can never be diagnosed correctly, so as long as I don't get that I'll be ok with some creaking. It reminds me of my '72 Skylark back in the day lol.

Skylark..wow that brought back memories!
Glad to hear you have had great trouble free experience.
Now mount up those new gorgeous wheels, and post some pics!

I'm sad to say I'll be parting ways with the Scat Pack wheels. They just don't do it for me even with the drop. Oh well, lesson learned. Black wheels just aren't my thing anymore.

Can't you have the wheels powdercaoted to a color of your choice?
Then again your car, you should do what makes you happy

Look with the springs is nice. Notice any handling improvement with the center of gravity down a bit?

Are those as cool as Vossens? Then I'm in!!
I could have, but then that's just really hiding the fact that I didn't love the wheel design and fitment. I think I got a little to caught up in the fact they're forged and lightweight vs loving the design and fitment.
Bingo.
Thanks dude! Can't wait to see when you get your stuff on.
Thanks T. It does handle better, tighter and less body roll in corners and less nose diving under braking, but with that comes a small sacrifice in ride comfort going over rough road or bumps. It's still super comfortable though, so I'm happy with it.

I really want to stick with OEM Mopar wheels. I just prefer OEM-ish looking wheels.
So I know I said I'm not sure about black wheels, but I think it might be a matte black thing, not gloss black. I did this quick chop. Gloss black powdercoated SRT Alcoa 5 spokes. Thoughts?

Damn it. I guess I'll give up on my wheel search for now and just get new tires for the chrome clads. Thanks for all the o-pin-e-ons.

I'm not a fan of them in the OEM silver so I'd be inclined to get them powdercoated. I'll keep my eyes open and if a cheap enough set comes up maybe I'll snag them. We'll see.
