First one...was my EVIC display started looking funky like the screen was going bad...and then a few times the car randomly shut off, once while driving...and then locks you out of turning it back on for a couple minutes. Thankfully the dealer found a short in the dash and replaced it.

2nd time was a wiring harness to one my o2 sensors that was causing bad info and a dummy light after I swapped my headers/midpipe.

Good looking ride. Love the color. Not sure how I haven't seen you in the Goodlettsville/Hendersonville area with a color like that. I'll have to keep a sharp eye out.

Thanks man. I haven't been driving it a lot lately and when I do I've been staying closer to home in Goodsville. I run to the Walmart, Target and Pour Vous in Hendersonville every once in a while though. Once spring gets here I'll be taking it down to the Saturday evening car show in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot on Long Hollow. I think there's a car show Friday nights on Indian Lake that I might start going to as well.

Pour Vous is just amazing. Great hard alcohol section. I'd be down to go to some car shows, no idea what goes on here. I miss going and seeing other cool cars. Keep an eye out for my FX and, well, the CL stands out. Can't imagine there's a lot of modified ones running around.

Yep Pour Vous is the bomb. I go there for the craft beer, or Midtown in downtown Nashville, but that's a much longer drive.

I'll let you know when the shows start back up. It's always good to have fellow car enthusiasts to shoot the shizzit with. I accidently discovered the one on Long Hollow since I live down the street from it, and the Indian Lake one I found out about through my Mopar club. It'd be cool to check out the new wheels out on the FX someday.

Where is the one on Indian Lake? I live off Sanders Ferry so it's not far from me at all. FX is filthy right now. Haven't cleaned it in forever and its black so it shows immediately. Also driving to and from downtown for work everyday doesn't help either.

We are located at The Streets of Indian Lake behind the Regal Cinema Theater at the junction of Indian Lake Boulevard and Vietnam Veterans Parkway.....Combination 50/50 and Door Prize Drawing....Great Music!!!!!!!! From Nashville go north on I-65 to exit 95, go east on Vietnam Veterans Blvd. to exit 7... Did I mention it's..."FREE"...
And here's the Goodlettsville one:

Pulled the trigger on these. Stock 6.4L SRT8 exhaust manifolds which are basically tube style shorty headers with a heat shield shell. Should flow much better than the stock 5.7L exhaust manifolds.

what kind of restrictions do you have as far as SMOG, exhaust legal etc does your state have...if any?

If you aren't restricted like I am...you have even more possibilities at your fingers.

We have emissions testing but it's not the sniffer test, it's where they just plug into the OBII port. I don't think they did any kind of visual inspection last time I went through with the MS6. Because of that I'm thinking possibly JBA or Kooks hi-flow catted mids, but if I can find a killer deal on stock SRT8 mids I might just go with those. I definitely don't want to go catless though just because of the smell.

^How would they know if you did a cam? Most of the people who do inspections aren't the brightest around. And even if they did know, why would they really care?

Depending on how aggressive the cams are, you can definitely tell with a big V8 - especially if there's a catback exhaust attached. It may raise questions with a more thorough inspection?

From what I've seen in smog stations in CA, inspectors don't really pass and turn their head the other way in CA unless you have a "special guy" - their licenses are on the line and take it pretty seriously.

I was surprised to see how thorough the technicians were on my last visit in the S2000.

CA smog is an emissions test...I would fail in a heartbeat with a cam.

This is what I have been told by EVERYONE on the tuner side of things that I have talked to around here.

Ha ha thanks man, but I ended up having total buyers remorse and sold the manifolds. I decided it'd be better for me to go the aftermarket route with headers/mids instead of retrofitting the SRT8 stuff on the R/T.

So I have these on the way which I'll install myself immediately and then down the road I'll get the JBA shorty headers and have them installed at a shop.

Yeah man definitely. Not sure how much they'll change the sound without headers but hopefully it'll be a little deeper/more aggressive. We'll see.

How so? We don't have inspections down here, so I figure why not . Got a couple of years before I do it though, so who knows.

I was just joking dude! We don't have inspections either, I just like the idea of the shorties/mids being direct bolt on so I can piece it together. Plus I hear the long tubes flow so well you lose some low end torque. Who am I kidding, I'll probably end up selling the shorties someday and get long tubes too.

I was wondering...long day . I've heard the same thing about LTs, but if you do a few more things it works out...just planning for the (potential) future . I know I'd have to get some work done on my exhaust to fit on the LTs, though. Good excuse to swap the H-pipe in my exhaust for an X-pipe.

Installation complete, and as usual it was a complete b*tch. I'm going to shoot the "after" comparison video tomorrow, but to my ears the exhaust note is ever so slightly louder.

Actually the only issue I had with getting the old stuff off was the drivers side o2 sensor threads got stripped which meant I had to buy a new one for $60 from PepBoys. Otherwise it was pretty easy. The hard part was getting everything lined up. I thought I was good but after my test drive it sounded like my car was going to rattle apart lol. I put it back up on stands, loosened everything, realigned and retightened. Thankfully that was all it was. But between changing the oil, rotating the tires and this it took up most of my Saturday.

Ok here's a comparison video. It's not a huge difference really, more so in person. You might be able to tell in the revs it seems a little meaner/more aggressive. Let me know if you guys here it, too.

Yeah I agree dude it's really hard to tell on the video. The main reason I did it was because I couldn't find one on YouTube comparing before and after but maybe that's why there wasn't one since it's not as noticeable on video. In person I can definitely hear a difference in loudness and tone so I'm happy.

Oh and hey, welcome back from your little vacation lol!

I like the old sound to be honest, sounded deeper and had a nice crack. New mid range is higher.
