Word of warning...READ READ READ about installing tunes prior to trying it. You need to have the car completely OFF...no electronics on, no lights, no nothing...doors closed to turn off the dummy chimes, etc.
Also...if you are going to take in to a dealer for service ALWAYS remember to re-install your stock tune (in case they update the cars firmware) so it doesnt overwrite your tune and leave you fucked because I dont think you can go back to your OG stock tune after that. But double check that.

I'm definitely not getting my expectations set too high. I am looking forward to the tranny and throttle adjustments just as much as the HP boost. Next I'll be searching for an intake. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with a Volant CAI.

I just have to remove the belly pan to get to mine. I bought a 2nd filter so I can just swap them...I did last month. Thankfully my FIL is a mechanic...so while he had it up on the lift for an oil change I jumped in and swapped the filter.

Looking good! I kinda like side moldings, but I think taking them off works well with the Charger's blocky styling.

From what I've been told I would need to remove the bumper for the LMI True CAI. It does make sense to do it the way you explained. I'm going to a Mopar meet Sunday so I'll ask around. Might consider switching intakes if theres a considerable difference between the two.

Might be different for my car since I have an actual lip...so there is a under liner and the belly pan...once the belly pan is off for the oil change...its easy to remove the under liner to get to the filter.

I don't. The LMI Hammer is a short ram and the Volant keeps the filter up high but enclosed with a scoop that runs down to the lower bumper, so the likeliness of hydro lock is almost nonexistant.
Really what it comes down to is the LMI looks amazing under the hood and from what I've read makes the most power for a SRI compared to the other SRI intakes even with heat shields. It's supposed to sound amazing, too.
The Volant isn't as pretty but I like how it encloses the filter completely from engine heat and has the scoop to pull in cool air from the bottom of the car. It's about $50 cheaper, too. It's just not as much of a gem to look at when you pop the hood.
Now if the Volant gave significant HP over the Hammer it'd be a no brainer, but I can't seem to find any real evidence of that yet so it's making the decision hard for me.

I just have to say I love this Diablo Sport Predator tuner! At first I wasn't so sure it was worth it. I put the 93 Performance tune on it and increased the shift firmness, and while it felt better I was expecting a little more out of the tune. So last night I decided to get more in depth with some of the settings. I set the tire size calculation, adjusted the auto stick to hold gears and not upshift automatically and set the throttle boost to 20%. Gave it a quick drive to Starbucks this morning and what a difference especially in the throttle response. The car feels perfect now, how it should have come from the factory.
