FYI, If the SC'er ever needs rebuilding, the guy on the link below does great work at a reasonable price.

I just found out my boy with an auto turbo NSX just got his tranny built. I might go in that same direction.

thanks I've been looking around at potential rebuilders. I might use my local again that I used for my last supercharger if I can get ahold of him. But thanks for the reference just in case I can't.

LOL I figured this post was coming sooner or later.
It's a risk and some people ride the wave out, or just rebuild right away.
Unfortunately since the AT is so rare, and even more rare with a S/C, there aren't many evidence cases suggesting the OEM Trans will hold up or not. As mentioned, seems 50/50.

lol. His hasn't gone out but he said since he went turbo and pushing more than the s/c'd guys he decided he should build it.

Are the auto nsx prone to failure being N/A? I'd think they could handle a S/C.

they can be if you're beating the hell out of the car on a consistent basis like tracking it or once they get really high on mileage. The guy I bought it from blew the tranny and had it rebuilt right before I bought it. But he was big on tracking. Because it was rebuilt fairly recently I'm in no hurry to do anything to it. Granted if it blows after I put the blower in I'll just rebuild it. But I don't foresee that happening. I guess my thing is I want to get his monies worth out of the rebuild he did before I get it fully built when I really don't have too right now.

nothing can be worse than the CL auto, lol. And you don't race or beat on it by the sounds of it so you'll be fine I'm sure.

i have my moments, which is normal when you have a sports car. but not nowhere near most people i know. i just feel like the car needs a little bit more hp than it came with. my bolt-ons wer nice but i needed just a tad more.

I had an 03 Auto CL and my trans was fine.

I just don't understand how my 03 CL-S Auto was 5spd, but 04 NSX Auto is 4spd. Would have been nice to have 1 more gear in there. Rumors have it the 4spd was set up for track purposes.

you must have been one of the lucky ones. ive wondered about that myslef before, why the 04 auto still had a 4 spd. this car had so much more potential that Honda let get away.

Now that I think about it, the CL-S auto has more HP than the NSX Auto. (260 vs 250 right?). They should've learned and bumped it up on the 02+

yea those numbers are right. but youre at 290 since you have an 02+ manual so youre doing better than me. my CL was a lot faster than my NSX.

lol I'm in the process of breaking the whole car down. Supercharger install prep, new carpet, etc, etc. tons to get done over the next few months. Probably won't drive it again until the spring.

Absolutely stunning! Just skimmed thru the whole thread and I am a little jealous I will never be able to afford to do something like this... Great work and can't wait to see it when you are done, if ever!

You hate the 3G?
