Splurged a lil..

I splurged a 'lil bit this week..I'm training (unpaid ) to become a Financial Representative with First Investors Corporation and should be starting after I pass the licensing exams..Series 6, 63, and Life Insurance exam in August. I also just graduated College so I had a little deeper pockets than usual

I got new tires..Continental ExtremeContact DWS 225/50/17 which I love so far. They grip extremely well in both dry and wet conditions. I also bought Tein S-techs so I will be dropped FINALLY, phew. A fellow V6 Performance member on Long Island with 5AT got sent a ported 6MT manifold by mistake, so we met up and he told me about it (very cool guy) and so I bought that too Oh, and an OBX catback

I expect mid 13 ETs @ Etown..

I spoke to an owner of the OBX he said it's pretty quiet;I think they may have finally stepped up their game a bit. There is a sound clip on Youtube with my exact setup minus the Jpipe. It sounds pretty good and is quiet. The tone kind of reminds me of the Greddy..

He also said the quality is really good and it was a great investment. I can't wait to hear how it sounds and feel the gains!

Not a good sign, I would hold off spending. Mid 13's is fast, hope you got something special under the hood.

its an accord, way lighter than the fat-girl tl... I do agree tho, that obx sounds extra nice... doesn't look half bad either... mmmh.... well as long as the welds holdup (which I've herd aren't pretty, but do hold up)... you are good to go

^^ Another 7th gen V6 said the welds were great so I'm not worried.

Well, I ran 14.04 with my mods now and a 2.247 60'. If I got that down alone to a 2.15 (new tires should help) that's around a 13.8. Plus exhaust and intake manifold..and the S techs should help a wee bit in launching, I think mid 13s are pretty attainable. I guess we will just have to see

How come the thread was moved? I'm pretty sure tires, ported intake manifold, and exhaust are all performance mods..??

Nice mods you got there. I was considering going with the OBX catback before I decided to go custom with mine. It's actually just a knock off of the Tanabe sytem (check out pictures side by side, they're nearly identical). The only issues I've heard with the OBX is the fitment is somewhat off so adjustments with the hangers to get it straight will have to be done at a muffler shop (under $50) and the muffler packing breaks down after a few years thus making it louder, but what do you expect for a $300 catback. It does look and sound good though from what I've seen.

As far as mid-13s... damn you and your sea level track! Lol, I was expecting mid-14s with my set up and the best I could get was a 15 flat because my 60ft times sucked (best of 2.5x) and the tracks in Arizona are all over 1000ft above sea level. Sometimes I wish I still lived in CT so I could make the 3 hour drive down to ETown, but then I think about your 23 days of rain in June and I take it back lol! I made a few changes since that run though so I'm sure I'd dip into the 14s once the weather cools down out here, which is like 6 months away.

Good luck with all installation on everything. And report back with what you run. Very curious if you'll run that fast.

The OBX comes with a Lifetime Warranty so hopefully they'd be able to send me a new one if the packing breaks down.

Many of the Accord/TL parts are interchangeable..not a big deal. The Accord is a good amount lighter than the TL, around 3250 without me in it if I remember right. But, the TL's make more power per mod than us Accords do, so it evens out anyway.
