Talking Some More Paint Work Pics of a recent Job, Enjoy

Here is the accord I started working on a few days back. Previously I painted the passenger fender, bumper and front underbody spoiler. He wanted to get the hood paint and opposite fender blended. He also asked to get the small amount of cancer fixed on the roof.Enjoy the pictures and don't mind my crappy tape job.

Looks good! I can't believe this is a hobby for you! Are you sure we can't work out a deal on a custom grille for my TL??
These pics make me wish we had never given away our Accord. At the least it would have been a good grocery getter.

While working on this job, I was very confident in my decision to allow this to only be a hobby, as I get quite tired quickly with the amount of work on th job. I am suppose to have a 05 accord sedan next, but I need a break.

Sorry about the grille. I would make one if they were less work and held up better. With all the seams where it is joined, it is too hard to guarentee my work on this job as the sun expands the glue and sometimes makes little indentations in the finish.

Love these threads, great work!

On something like a roof, where you can't get the panel into the booth, do you do anything different? Isn't dirt and dust a major problem?

Having seen his set up...he is probably 3 levels more meticulous than anyone I've ever met...he probably built a semi booth around the roof.

I will say that I having watched him work, I'm in absolute awe of the level of skill he can attempt and then accomplish. It's absolute perfection.

When I convince him to stop being a teacher and paint cars for a living, I'll get my entire car redone by him.

PS...sent this link to your Dad, Brian...he says he'll stop by home depot to pick up a gallon of goof off to get all that silver and clear off the palm trees!

I actually like that idea of a progress thread!

As for the dirt nibs, I just wetsand and buff all my horiztonal surfaces. I cut the whole roof with s2025 meg 2k paper. Compound, polish glaze. It takes a while but it is the only way to beat the system. And yes every job has dirt nibs, except for that fender, it came out really clean, i didn't even cut and buff it!

I charged $650, i also took apart and painted the mirrors, but didn't really feel like taking pictures. Half that price was for paint, but I had to cut this guy a deal as he is my sister's neighbor. Anyway's thanks for the compliments and I will take my goof off Jeremy.
