We actually traded our other commuter ('09 Versa Hatch) for the Prius. By some weird luck a few months ago we had a Prius as a rental. Wife really liked it and hated the Versa. Good deals on '10's, plus the 1k rebate from Toyota was nice.

Prius + tint =
On a side note, I know you said you won't be doing much as far as modding, but I think the Prius looks like a good candidate for some blacked out headlights. It'd look nice even just with some film

Nice! What package did you get? Looks like a II or a III.

Burning Brakes
I'd probably prefer the Prius too. I've driven those Versas as a rental car and they're just terrible. The six-speed is better, but not by much.

I only went with the III (non-navi) because the lease deal I got was cheaper than what most people were getting the II's for. Otherwise I was originally in for a II, but I wanted bluetooth for me and the wife. And thats really the only difference is BT and JBL...i know you can get BT on a II as an option.

As much as I would like to knock the Prius, I can't. This car drives circles around the wannabe hybrids.
Now, the 200% tint on the other hand... Do you not want to be seen in that thing? Oh, that's the swagger.

If you had bothered to read the post you would know I carry gear in the car and don't want people looking in.

Yeah but that kinda goes against the point of a lease...if youre going to rack up the mileage than why bother paying on the depriciation...because you are contributing to it by driving so many miles.

Now you need a nice set of 18s, black mesh with chrome lip for it

I see you removed the wheel covers.
Still have the PT? I got a dodge now, too

The PT Loser is still my DD. The Prius is my husband's primary car and our weekend/getaway/leavethecarattheairport/omgihavetodriveouttothestickstoday car.
Hence the 19k in a year.
I personally dislike the alloy covers off, but we have celica GTS rims awaiting tires once the stockers are worn so it doesnt matter much anyway. This is going to be our 10 year beater so nothing crazy is planned. Paint the roof, taillights and maybe lower it jsut a little bit. Offroaded in NC and it was nice not to hit the frame on rocks.

Why are you going to paint the roof? To make it look like the solar roof?
I like the wheels with the covers off.

You guys could always put some lightweight volks and increase your mileage even more. Heck, if you wanna go cheaper get some Enkei RPF1's. 15" versions of that wheel only weigh 9.6 lbs/wheel, the 16" weighs 14.x lbs. And the wheels are cheap and good quality.

Runs on Dunkin
The new Pruis looks a lot better than any other hybrid out there right now imo. A couple of my family members have them and are really happy, one drive down to Florida and back several times a year and the other has around 150k on from driving for business.

Hola!
We like the looks of the blacked out roof. Kinda wish we had sprung for the solar roof, but $3000 for that plus a navi I dont like. Then again I do love the backup camera. Meh. Wish it was standard like my friend's 2nd gen.
The stock 15s are pretty crappy. Cant wait to put new 16s on and decide which tires to get. In my old age (ha) Im starting to lean towards quieter tires than handle better. My Coopers on my PT are LOUD!

Since this is a lease I dont want to sink money into it. Windows are tinted and I'll probably remove the wheel the covers and get center caps.
