after contemplating sale of my G8 and dealing with low ballers i decided to keep it and put some money into it
2 weeks ago i installed Koni's with H&R springs along with Stoptech pads and rotors, car looks better it sits low almost the way i wanted to be and the ride is just awesome i have koni's set to 2nd setting which supposed to be a little stiffer than stock, i love it.
brakes are good too after breaking in process initial bite improved by alot.
im looking out to find a decent deal on CTS-V wheels, i found somebody local i hope to pick them up next weekend if everything is going to go according to the plan.
after that its either headers or Pat G tune or both, just not sure if im going to go with mid length headers or long tube, difference isnt huge but for a dd i would like to keep cats and with long tune headers there is bottom clearance issue and since im already lowered and living in the city isnt a plus.
my plans to the car is to do somewhere this year a mild cam and hopefully end up in 420ish at the wheels maybe better gears too
Installed CTS-V wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sports 255/40/19 front and 285/35/19 on the back. Powdercoated grey metallic with sparkle clear finish.
Better pics coming soon
on the other news i will be participating in Local Autocross soon and i will give my boat G8 a try should be fun !
nice.. I think to complete the theme..
needs tints
maybe even platidip or wrap the chrome trim.
I agree on both. I used to have limo tint but I removed it, this time I will go with 35% all around. Black out trim, you are the second person to tell me that. I need to read on this and figure out best way to do it.

Bring a GoPro for the AutoX! I'm sure the G8 will do just fine.

I too will be doing my first event this weekend
I can't wait , I still have couple tweaks to do like motul brake fluid and suspension stuff, and then stiffen up koni's and ready to go.
Then I go for little vacation next week so time is really tight.
I don't have a go pro but let me see if I can borrow one
After that there is new type event that scca came up with, it's called tracknights, May 13th there is one event in south jersey, I will definitely have fun
i have few videos that's one of them, it was a blast. best time in long time rear end started sliding you can see it in video i had to countersteer it to save it and lost some time there
Really? a lot of these auto-x cars are a much higher liability in my book, especially any high strung vette or s2k. High chance of them losing traction, hitting a pole or curb, and sending a wheel flying off to take out a spectator.

The locations of these events are typically void of any obstacles where a car might be damaged...unless a car drops a tranny or something mid run, which I have witnessed.
If there are light poles, the design of the track usually keeps away from them, or is set up that locations of possible spinouts, etc are no where near them.
AutoX is usually very "safe" as far as damage risk is concerned. I had more risk involved when running the infield track at the CA Speedway.
I was thinking the same things as you guys. I'd love to try it but I'd be scared of ramming into another car that actually knows where they're going lol.
pusssayyyys... it's actually not that bad. You walk through course first and get several runs. Look for downward cones to know which side to slay. It's okay to run over cones.. just a time penalty.
You don't need to go balls to the wall your first time out. Plus it's a great time to really get a feel for your car and know the limit or experience it in a somewhat safe environment. I say somewhat because many event tracks do have light posts and nearby curbs..
Think of it like any other sport you play.. good, bad, doesn't matter as long as you're having fun and not trying to kill someone (including yourself).

Auto X is the safest way into competition, they setup track far away from light poles but some tracks are limited with space.
i learned that with my staggered setup i get a little too much understeer, that i need more camber up front, i know how my car behaves on the limit and that is the reason i would recommend it to anybody
on the other hand competition bug bit me and im already looking into making my car a little faster
